Recently stopped the pill - wanting TTC but no idea?!?!

Hi,
I've recently got back from a holiday and we've decided that maybe we could TTC. I've been taking the pill for 10 years, stopped taking it on 16th August & got my withdrawal bleed on 20th August.
We've been to Florida so we're waiting for 8 weeks at least anyway because of all the Zika business. But just wanted to know, how do I count cycles? Do I count from the last day of my withdrawal bleed to the first day of my next AF as my first cycle and then wait another month to see how many days on average.
Sorry, I'm not down with the lingo of everything & not sure how to make notes of everything. I was thinking of just going with the flow, but that goes totally against my nature haha.

Anyone help with an idiots guide to trying?! And anyone have any experience of conceiving soon after coming off the pill.

So what have your cycles been mistoffelees? I'm kind of anxious to see when AF will come for me...just because it always used to take me my surprise. I always remember slouching over a desk all of a sudden in high school, awful cramps, banging head & begging for the toilet pass!!
I just won't tell my DH - we can have little secrets I suppose.
Just talking to a friend about TTC in the future & said I wouldn't be looking at ovulation times etc as I can't rely on DH being here. So I'd rather just have fun DTD
Then I said who knows could be Christmas, could be next Christmas,
Could be never. And at that point I almost choked up thinking oh my goodness, next Christmas seems forever away...wait never is never and that could happen!

Aaww, don't start getting worried yet, definitely just enjoy DTD!!
So last few have been 32, 29, 28, 32 then 41 most recently!! AF length has also varied between 2 and 5 days, no idea what any of that means! I can't really remember what I was like before being on the pill, was so long ago!

My first cycle off the pill has been 25 days. I'm really surprised as my app predicted 28 based on the average, but I thought first month off would be really delayed. Slightly sad to see af in a way, but nice to know af is back pretty quickly. Hopefully next month isn't far off. Just so glad I was prepared! Definitely keep your accessories (pads etc, pair of big knickers) handy, I have mine in a pretty floral makeup bag in my bag. Thank god I had that today, I only pulled it together two days ago.
