But am considering getting some for the children for Christmas.

dd the carry along house (The bigger houses are lovely but waay expensive)

ds has asked for the pyramid but as we have got him a wii I think that would be excessive given cost.Am looking at some less costly dinosaur stuff.

Can anyone reccomend what Playmobil their children have enjoyed the most?TIA.

Thanks WTTMrwolf, that's a good deal on the hospital, I'm very tempted!

John Lewis have just lowered the price on the hospital, ambulance, helicopter, circus & accesories www.johnlewis.com/Search/Search.aspx?SearchTerm=playmobil#&&/wEXAQUHYWpheFVybAVKU1JUL1NlYXJjaC9TZWFy Y2guYXNweD9TZWFyY2hUZXJtPXBsYXltb2JpbCZPTS1QYWdlTnVtYmVyPTAmT00tU29ydE9yZGVyPTBQ+aV7W13TmyNx+V5Cliuq F/NAeg==

that's interesting Frassled thank you, I think DS would love it and it's not too much money either. Have been thinking of getting the hospital for the DDs to share, wonder if they would like it?

I have just bought the recycle truck today as saw it on offer for £17.50 and was £22 before - I have to admit I have been slightly obsessively googling it today!

Playmobil is amazing! My mil has kept all DH's playmobil from when he was a child (he is 32 now!) and DS plays with it all the time when we go round hers...she is a little protective of it and we haven't been allowed to bring any of it home yet!!

He has got loads at home already though:-
Plane
Dustbin Lorry
Police Car
Ambulance
Small helicopter
DHL Van which is his favourite! It cost £5 from e-bay!

Was thinking of the farm for christmas but not sure whether to get the mega farm set or the smaller one?? Any suggestions?

DS will be 5 in february but still very much into cars, tractors, buses etc rather than transformers/power rangers etc so would get quite a lot of use.

Ds has the dinosaur playmobile stuff and still plays with it. I think a lot of the playmobile stuff is over priced so I would make sure that you choose something that you know they are likely to play with.

This year for christmas we have got our daughter the playmobil hospital and ambulance. We are also going to get her the medical helicopter and few other accessories.

My friend has playmobil for her children, started when her eldest was 3 and they are still using it 10 years later!

Apparantly very long lasting so that is great

Ha ha - thank you! I think I am going to as he is seeming to want older stuff but not gone down the transformers/power rangers end. I can use my 20% of at ELC for the truck and then the set at Tesco I am thinking for grandparents to split

Same as You - my DS has the recycle truck and he loves it, goes round the DDs dolls house 'recycling' everything and driving them mad He also really like the helicopter ambulance which has a winch and stretcher, amamzing what needs rescuing!

FlightAttendant: have you not got the Playmobil Virgin Mary?
She is part of the nativity set.

We have this, and also a set of Christmas tree ornaments that was sold up til 2002, I found it in a playmobil collectors shop in northern france this summer.
I know when these were on sale, because we have the Playmobil Collectors book, also the History of Playmobil book.

We bought these on one of our many visits to the Playmobil fun park in Zirndorf in Germany.....if you have young playmobil fans, I would seriously recommend spending next years summer hols among the lakes and mountains and playmobil of southern germany.

I went to toys r us today and bought

Noahs Arc
The Playground set
and, as I spent over £40, got a FREE ship wreck set .

Sadly I am now obsessed with getting the camper van after reading this thread and fear I will have to go back to buy that and something else to get another free-be!

I have no more room left in my wardrobe for clothes or presents .

We have Ds has a huge toy bag full of it! He's got a helicopter, ambulance and campervan that I bought from ebay and are a bit rubbish and incomplete but he still loves them and plays with them often! I bought a huge castle from TKMaxx 2 years for about £30 instead of £100 . Last year I bought the airport and bastard plane for half price then ds announced that he didn't want any playmobil for Christmas so I put it on ebay . He's also got an ice expedition set that has a dinosaur skeleton under the ice that needs digging up and fixing together.

My favourite is the tree-house but it takes hours to put it together ans I get a bit upset when ds breaks bits off it!!

Actually, I bought a Pirate ship from TKMaxx but don't know where it is - think it might be in THE cupboard (the cupboard that I was supposed to be spending the day tidying that I haven't been near yet!!). My plan was to give it to my Godson but his Mum said he couldn't have it . I'm off to the cupboard to search for playmobil tidy it.

DD age 7 has modern house (with extra lighting kit) & pirate ship amongst other bits and bobs.
Another vote for EBAY as much of ours has come from there! This Xmas will be a carry along farm via ebay from Germany & some extra horses & jumps to turn it into more of a stable.
They play with it for years!

It's OK if it's virtual moodlum, you won't be able to see it at all

Please will you all stop telling me how marvellous the pirate ship is . I'm getting to the point of smuggling christmas presents in for dcs, sneaking past DH and pretending they are for him... Even I know a whopping great pirate ship is not going to be easily smuggled in anywhere. Already the bottom of my wardrobe is taken up with Brachiosaurus with Rocks.

Cross posts, lol.
The seller I was looking at offers a flat postage of £9.99 to UK also no matter what you buy....time to step away from the pooter me thinks.

Just checked and the ebay seller I have saved in my watch list is selling playmobil stuff from Germany. They have got so much stuff that we haven't got over here yet. Probably best that playmobil addicts don't look though you may end up bankrupt!

I don't think school comes out until 2010 in the uk but you can get it on e-bay from Germany.

I have just ordered dd the vets car for x-mas as she will need a vet to visit her farm .

Tried in vain to get my DD2 to like playmobil but she doesn't seem that bothered, although I am gutted cos I love it!
Would love to see her get excited about it so I could indulge myself her with Playmobil.
Has anyone seen the playmobil school that some ebay sellers have got? Seems its new for 2009 but looks v expensive.
