What will be this year’s ‘must have’/sell out toy?

Just wondering what people think 2022’s equivalent to the fingerling will be? I just love being the auntie who manages to get the toy that has already sold out by the time the child actually asks for it 😂😂 normally it’s really clear on the ‘must have toys’ lists but haven’t spotted anything this year! So predictions are welcome!!

@Always4Brenner it's the size of my torso Grin so I'm actually using it for leaning on when I watch TV or read. World of comfort

Magic good on you we adults need our comfort zones don’t we? 🤗

My daughter likes Gabby’s doll house but it’s a very basic plastic doll house for £80!

It is, I've alrought bought dds and its no where near worth the price.
DD hasnt asked for any big presents this year as already has a kitchen, doll house, bike etc so ive bought it as im not getting a "big" thing but its really not great for the money.

Also if you do the entertainer birthday code you get 20% off so get it for £64 instead of £80.

I know 9 year old dd would love the Guinea pigs but I can’t justify the price to buy one.

She wants the new magic mixie too. With the fortune telling ball. I only paid for the cauldron christmas gone past and whilst she loved the cauldron, the actual mixie wasn’t played with very much. The ball is even more expensive so I doubt I’ll be getting it.

I will be buying more mixlings though. They are very popular here

Snap! I actually loved the Magic Mixie it was a highlight for me although expensive. I'm a bit gutted the new ones look even better as I would love to buy one but at £75 and the kids still happy with our cauldron, it won't be a thing this year.

Love the magic mixlings though, DD got some for her birthday last week and I do rate them, very cute and good quality.

Like a PP, we have real life guinea pigs but I can see DD wanting the Live Pet one!

My youngest will absolutely love one of those huge rubbery dinosaurs too though I didn't catch how much they are.

I am annoyed at how close to Christmas some toys are suddenly heavily advertised. I've usually bought everything by late November at the latest and a couple of years ago in Mid December there was a gorgeous Frozen doll set in the Disney store which definitely wasn't there a couple of weeks earlier that would have been a star present!

@Soubriquet register for an account, then under the details you can add in your children’s names (up to 10) and choose whichever birthday you fancy. I have many under mine 😂

*Lanky box big suprise box. Some crazy kids YouTube merch that seems to be out selling mama suprise on Smyths website. Basically a big suprise box with crap in it.
*So slime magic cauldron seems to be selling well too. We also bought into the magic mixies last year and it is still played with but can't justify even more money for the crystal ball one either. The slime cauldron lights up and mists selling for £30.
*Sky dancers dolls, 2022 release. Anyone remember these from the 90s, a remember them nearly taking an eye out so definitely one for outdoors. Selling well right now rrp £20

I've spent way to long looking at toys recently.

I loved my Sky Dancers when I was little, I might need to get DD one just so I can have a shot 🤣

At the moment, Bluey toys seem to be selling out the most quickly.

@Soubriquet and @Dreamwhisper would you mind explaining the mixies to me please? There's a cauldron that you put stiff into and some mist comes out and then a soft toy creature, is that the gist? And the creature is a mixling, and you can get different ones and more potion stuff to "magic" then out of the cauldron again. Is that sort of it?
I felt a bit out of my depth with the guinea pig toy, even after watching the video (!) Mixies seem a whole new level of ways to send money and not be sure what I'm buying.

Wonderful I really don’t blame I’ve got a smaller squishy and love it.

It’s quite cool really.

You add water, and it starts to make bubbling noises and lights. Then you need to tap your magic wand against the cauldron. Then you add all these different ingredients depending on the spell, but tbh they don’t really do anything apart from add to the magic.

when it gets close to reveal the toy, mist will start to pour out. Then the floor flips and the water drains to the bottom revealing your toy.

It’s actually really cool to see and I enjoyed doing it as much as dd did. The refill packs aren’t expensive either.

I know I’m saying no to the magic ball, but I probably will end up doing it anyway Grin

@Mrsfussypants1 are sky dancers the fairies where you pull the string and they fly? I have such a vivid memory of showing mine off to my great gran and flying it straight into her cuppa.

Quite a lot of the things I’ve got my eye on have been mentioned already. I think the Guinea pig thing will be popular and I was looking at the sky dancers and magical mixlings. My daughter has mentioned the Gabby house as well as the barbie dream house but I’m trying to steer her away from asking for those.

I’ve just bought the Isabella Encanto lego set in case that sells out. We’ve got the house but it’s always annoyed my 6yo there wasn’t an Isabella figure. When we were trying to get Encanto things earlier in the year for her birthday they were so hard to come by. So much was sold out so I’d be getting Christmas things early for anyone wanting Encanto themed stuff. We ended up getting a mirabel dress off Etsy as it was impossible to get from Disneystore etc.

I agree Bunnycat Encanto stuff has been a nightmare. My DD wanted the house (not the lego house just the normal one) and i couldnt get it anywhere!!

I’ve just bought the magic mixie cauldron for my DC, it looked good and the reviews were good but definitely pricey.

Really lovely encanto doll set in b&m at the moment.
