Christmas

What do your DCs want for Christmas this year?

Mine do not have any requests, which is a first.

DD1 just tells me she can't think of anything and DD2 just wants 'surprises'.

I shall keep an eye on things they seem interested in and pick up some bits and pieces for them, but neither of them will have a 'big' present it seems this year.

DD2 has finally come up with something she'd like.

One of those apple peeler/slicer gadgets.

Um, ok dd2. If you like.

Ds1 is 10 and wants lots of expensive things - like an xbox or playstation, but still wants some playmobil, toy cars and other things that remind me he's still little. I'm ignoring the 'million pounds of money' that's also on the list as it's on my list too but I don't think I'm going to get it either Grin

ds2 is 7 and has a very sweet list. He wants the new skylanders (he had them last year and has played with them a lot, both on the wii and using the characters as games that he plays on the floor and that spread through the house. Next he wants a 'signed photo of you' - ie he wants to see what the real santa looks like. He also wants 3 different versions of monopoly Xmas Hmm - the Beano version (he's mad about the Beano), the new Brands version and he's also spotted a print your own version... We already have the original game so I'm loathe to buy any really but I think I might have to get one. He also drew a word search underneath his list for santa as a game for him to play to give him a bit of a break, and the answers (upside down!) in case he couldn't work it out Grin.

Ds2 is 20 months so too little to care but I think he will be thrilled with a "choo choo".

Dd is 5 and hasn't really asked for anything except doh Vinci stuff so she's got a set from ds1.

Ds1 has only asked for twister so he's got that from dd.

Mine won't say. So far I have only raised the subject casually a few times, within a conversation about what we are going to buy for other people. But they can't tell me anything about what they want as then it won't be a surprise.

Every single thing they see on TV. But really one DT wants a sing along Elsa doll and the other wants a twirling skirt Cinderella. That's really all they have asked for along with some dressing up stuff. They are only 3 though i expect once they start seeing all the stuff they could have at their friends houses once they start school next year they will want quite a bit more. Grin This year we are going low key.

DD (17) PS4 and Fallout 4. She's contributed to the console cost, but might give her it back yet.

DS (will be 7 just before so birthday and Christmas). Like another poster, basically anything that is advertised: Lego Dimensions and sets, Disney Infinity, bloody Terraria playset that looks like tat and cost £65, Minecraft Lego, there's more, but I can't be bothered to write it all down.

DSs 15 and 14 - still waiting on the requests :(

There are no "big ticket" items they want. DS1 has suggested maybe a new keyboard and mouse. I suspect DS2 wants a giant Steam voucher or cash but he'd be disappointed with nothing to open on Christmas day.

So far I've bought new phone cases, The Guinness Book of records and the gamers edition and the the Ripleys book and I've pre ordered two (gaming) Z boxes and a pair of pyjamas each.

I'm normally nearly finished by now!

Dd2 wants a few my little pony things.

Dd1 doesn't want anything as she has everything and has no room for anything else.

They've both made noises about 3ds's though so they're getting them along with a whole pile of other stuff I know they will like.

Dd1 is 16 two days after christmas, I feel your pain the others who are having to double up. So far she's asked for a dog (no, dh is allergic) a cat (no dh is even more allergic) and gene testing to see if she's likely to develop cancer/ms dtc (no that's just odd).

She would be happy with fleecy socks and some nice tea to be fair.

9yo: kindle, clothes, and books (both kindle and real)
8yo: ps4

They're both getting what they want. 8yo's is a joint birthday and xmas present and is getting nothing else from us or immediate family. (is still getting stocking and one present from father Christmas). He's adamant that he is fine with that but I think he'll be a bit disappointed at not having things to open when it comes down to it. The ps4 came with 4 games so I'm taking those out and wrapping them separately, thinking of giving him the console and one game to open on his birthday and the other games at Christmas.

RockingHorse I brought DD this Piano when she was 2 it's still going strong and she is a very tall 6 year old. It really is very lovely and has lots of play potential as they get older and can use the colour coded song book. It is made from a high gloss wood/MDF not plastic and is very solid and robust.

They are allowed to request 3 things. DS 6 has asked for mario maker wii u, lego joker land and a hex bug set.

DD has asked for disney princess guess who, a disgust doll from inside out and a Tinkerbell doll that blows bubbles.

DD'S requests are significantly cheaper!

DS age 3 wants a black fish in a fish tank fuelled by granny who keeps taking him out to garden centres even though we have 3 cats. He's having a scalextric.
Dd age 12 wants 'stuff' but nothing pink, floral, girly, clothes-related or toiletries. So.....?
dS age 6 weeks isn't getting anything, just a small token from Santa, and family presents.
