Grandad and Grandma survival kits

I'm starting to prep pressies for Christmas and am going to make "survival kits" for my out laws as their other daughter in law (she's married and more respectable) has just had a baby and I'm due in March.
So what do I put in a grandparent survival kit?

So far I have a lovely children's book called "how to babysit your Grandad?" Some knitting needles and wool, Worthers originals....

What else?

I got this book Grandparent's journal for mine.

It's a book for them to write about their/the family's history. That went down well, and is a really special thing for the babies when they are older.

You can also get little photo albums called grandma's/granddads boasting books. You can get them all over like this.

Thanks guys, good ideas. jam toast12 I know what you mean and I will obviously by them a proper peeve sent but they are v v excited a both being grandparents and as my mother out law always gives me a socking full of little things so it will be nice to do something similar back!

Love this idea! Definitely second the photo frame - or maybe even one of those magnetic ones for the fridge, of a photo keyring? (My mum loves hers and uses it to share pictures with unsuspecting and almost certainly uninterested strangers on planes and public transport, very embarrassing! )

This present is a fab idea, and I am most probably going to steal it. Very unique, and clearly you will have put time and effort in.

Maybe something with a quote about grandma/grandads? Am thinking of those magnets/mugs/tea towels you can get. Otherwise I saw this bag once with some lovely (and some very cheesy) things in - for example a set of marbles 'for when I (grandchild) make you lose yours'. Really can't remember what else was in there though.

For grandma maybe a small piece of jewellery with grandchildrens' birthstones on? If they drink then a mini bottle of gin/whiskey, for when the babies have gone home, if not some nice tea. Obviously you know them best so you know what sort of stuff they would find funny/touching, have you googled grandparent gifts to see what comes up? Might bring up some of those novelty gifts that card shops sell.

Obviously you know your in laws best but I'm not sure its a good idea tbh! I understand yours and sil excitement etc but to me It seems very much about the kids and less about what they would like as individuals?

Its a fun idea but my in laws would be unimpressed I think as not really gifts for them iyswim? Sorry not trying to sound negative, just wandered if you'd considered thatt they may find it funny but not serious enough to be their actual gift?
