Anyone going to CarFest this year, North or South

We're off to CarFest South and are lucky enough to have a camper van ticket and I'm starting to get excited.

Anyone else going this year?

We're just gearing up for South now. Got out DH's pup tent for outside the campervan today. He only just fits!

Starting to get excited about it now... we are in the pre pitched camping - our 3rd year...
DDs very excited about the Book area and the Ball zone....

Just feel woefully unprepared, as usual it will be a "shove it all in the car at the last minute" trip...

We're leaving Thursday to go and get the campervan from my parents. So tomorrow I have to pack with a 4 year old helping.

The camping field has pretty much doubled in size this year and campervans are at the end. We have a long walk home each night!

We're off to South this weekend Grin

Seasoned campers but never been to a festival before. Can't take the trailer tent either which is a bit of a git. No real idea what to take or how to get it on site. Feeling completely clueless but v excited!

Any idea btw if Dh and dc can go early in the day, set up then come fetch me from work and go back?

That should be fine, you just pick up your wristbands for all of you. The CarFest 2014 Facebook group has lots of information on it. You can hire little wagons to get stuff from the car park to the field.

We are going too Grin haven't been before and couldn't get the camper van ticket.... How much space is there in the campsites? We've borrowed a bell tent, but it is big.

If it's like North it's a free for all. People had bell tents etc. earlier you get there more chance of a decent area. We arrived around 4pm and the fields were very busy and very full. People were being asked to drop marquees or at least put them half over their tents and use as a porch only. Some people do try and take up a lot of room beyond their actual tent but the marshals were pretty good as making people move stuff and use less space.

Dh and the boys have decided they want to be there when the site opens at 7am Shock

Car is mostly packed. I'm going shopping on my way to work tomorrow because I've realised that the only vaguely waterproof coat I've got doesn't have a hood...

Slight disaster because when I tried to book trolley hire this morning they'd closed on the website. Couldn't work out how dh and the dc would be able to carry everything. Googled trolleys expecting to find they cost ridiculous amounts, and found one at Robert Dyas for forty squid Grin Only a fiver more than the hire, and we've got it forever until the kids trash it

I just hope I'm not too knackered to enjoy it. Wasn't planning on having had meningitis when I booked the tickets!

Feeling very sad for the little boy aged 2 in the next tent who has been ranted at and got very cross at by his Daddy... He is terrified, cold and very tearful... Not helped by sweary, horrid man.... He is 2 ffs, not spoiled, ungrateful or naughty,... Want to go and scoop him up and give him a big hug....

And... Judgey pants hoiked up firmly... It is not reasonable to tell him to shut up.... Really.... It's not helping.

Oh dear. Poor mite. My 1 year old just had a screaming fit. Thank goodness for Gaviscon! It's a lot for kids really, not their fault if they get overwhelmed.

Really glad we decided to forsake Sophie E-B and Jamie Cullum and come home last night though in view of today's weather!

Well we made it back. We had a good time but definitely had one of those trips where everything goes wrong. Boys were tired and grumpy, everything we turned up for was cancelled or moved, and we found out about things too late. Occasionally you get a trip like that, but I still left with a grin on my face!

Oh, and the exhaust fell off the Campervan a quarter mike from my parents house.
