Small feet - need shoes

My DD is almost 15 months and walking really confidently but her feet are tiny, not even measuring a 2 yet. I have tired to get her 'proper shoes' in startrite, clarks etc, but to no avail, deos anyone know of where I can get proper shoes for such small feet please? (we are based in northampton).

Mothercare sale- I saw had some small soft/ cruiser type shoes for only a couple of quid in size "up to 2".

Got exactly the same problem with dd who has small and narrow feet she is now 16 months but been walking since 12 months. Thankfully she is now in a 3. Probs committing a major mum crime but having got her measured only to see gaping sides I have given up on those kind of shoe shops for now. Expensive for non fitting shoes. Have you tried TK maxx european shoes are sometimes smaller and often funkier. Also sandals are fab. Asda have size two shoes too for when she reaches that magical size (also similar crawlers to clarkes but cheaper).

i had exactly the same problem, but my dd was measuring up at a 2, clarks produce some styles in the crawlers in size 2, you can get them ordered in store, i always had to! mad isn't it!!

My DD was 16 months before she walked and didn't measure a 2. I think we went a whole spring/summer with her being barefoot or trashing her soft leather Daisy Roots-type things in the garden. If it was very wet, she had to stay indoors or in the pushchair!

Fortunately she grew like smoke and by the time I thought we could try a shoe fitting again she had almost reached a 3. And we had a lovely pair of navy Startrites.

Going barefoot is good for their feet anyway!

I hope she reaches the magic 2 soon.

It's a pain isn't it. I got dd some strap on sandals from a friend, but places like mothercare do them, just to walk from the car in etc.

Ds2 is similar - he is nearly 16 months, and nearly a size 2 1/2. Fortunately he isn't walking yet, so it's not such an issue. Dd was walking at 12 months, and was nearly a 2 so we did need something for her.

Clarks do the crawling shoes in that size. Or Clinkards have other ranges (not sure if that's a national shop or not), they might have something.

There is a website that does tiny shoes - I will search and see if I can find it.

I had a friend whose daughter was tiny and walked at 10 months - she tried everywhere to find shoes for her and in the end resigned herself to buying lots of pairs of "pram" shoes as she had to keep replacing them as they wore out! (and whilst I agree about keeping them out of shoes when you can, try reasoning with a tot that they cannot walk from the car to the house/shop/in the park because they don't have proper shoes ... nah!)

In Derby there's a fab shop which we used, mine were little too, but it's quite far for you. I'll get the link if you want it. I always thought N'hampton was THE place for shoes; my Dad used to travel from L/Spa to get them!

That a toughy, I guess she would /will wear through soft shoes dead fast, boy did before he was even walking, just cruising outdoors trashed them.
Our local shoe/boot maker don't like making smaler than a 5, but asking at local cobblers MIGHT find you someone who would do it.
Do clarks cruiser shoes come small enough for her? BOy was still in them for 4 months after he started walking indepentanly ( he was just a 4, 3.5 according to bootmaker). they were fine as "proper shoes".

barefoot, don't worry about shoes just yet, the longer you can keep her little feet out of them the better imo. You can buy the little leather shoo shoos, they are quite expensive and not really "proper" shoes, but will suffice. I do appreciate that you want to protect her feet on the beach etc, but these will do the trick and be really comfy. Such small feet - she must be really cute
