I have one who is 3. The name had never occurred to me before, but we were living in France, and finding a name that we both liked and that worked in English and French seemed to leave us with no other option but Charlotte.
And now I love it. She's a Lottie but sometimes a Charlotte. Timeless, elegant etc (her name, not her) - absolutely.

I'd like to think it's popular rather than common.

I've loved it for years. Very elegant and Lottie is a sweet nn for a little girl.

I have a 3 yr old Charlotte. It was never a name I would have considered but DP absoultely loves it and always has.
It was grown on me now and I think it is a very pretty, classic and elegant name that can be adapted/shortened to suit different personalities and is lovely in it's full form.
I chose DD2's name, Phoebe and although I love it, I wonder if it may "date" in the future.
Charlotte is one of those timeless names.

I have a Charlotte

Also she is not called Charlie or Lottie. It really winds me up. Im one of those mad types will correct you if you call her something other than her name.

It is, without doubt, the best name in the world.

It is a beautiful classic name. Good name for a child and a woman. Too many people call their baby girls cutesy sickening names and that is find when they are little and sweet, but who wants to be a Maisie when they are 40 years old??

I adore it, its one of the names I would have chosen for DD but DH new someone with the name that he didnt like, so he said no!

Report
LynetteScavo · 14/03/2010 08:39

DH loves it, and desperately wanted to call DD Charlotte.

I think it's a nice name for someone else, but didn't want it for DD. I could have compromised with shortening it to Lottie, though.

I love it, I usually prefer the more unusual names, but Charlotte was on my list (bump became DS in the end).

It's a really pretty name, with great NNs.

My DD is a Charlotte. I still love the name as much now as when we picked it over 6 years ago. We also sometimes shorten to Lottie. I'd say go for it!
