Is she a camila?

Throughout the worlds loneliest pregnancy, I've struggled to find a connection to a name that I love for my baby. Baby girl arrived yesterday , after a very difficult labour which resulted in a uterine scar rupture and emergency section, whilst without a birth partner. I would always flit between camilla and camille. Camille I've now ruled out and was wondering if I'm actually brave enough to use camilla as everyone seems to make the Royal connection and she's not the most favoured woman.

Then today I came across camila and am wondering if this is the one? Name meanings are very important to me and I like that if she chooses to be known as just mila, mila means miracle which she is. Her middle name will be eve.

Please help me chose and or give me confidence in the name choice. I don't know why I'm still hesitant.

Her elder sister is orla, if that helps.

Is she a camila?

Very lovely baby.

Camille or Camila, not the one-L spelling.

What an absolutely beautiful baby.

But Camila looks like you can’t spell Camilla. Why not just Mila?

I really like camilla and wouldn’t worry about the royal connection at all. I also think milla or mills is a pretty nn. However Mila on its own just tips it for me and is lovely with orla. Congratulations on your gorgeous baby!

You could call her Camila and introduce her to people as Mila when you’re not in the mood for questions.

I have a kid that goes by a shortening day to day and long version at doctors, passport etc. It is soooooo not an issue.

She is gorgeous and you should be feeling very proud. Sorry you had such a rough time.

Congratulations! She is beautiful - as is the name Camilla.

Congratulations on your beautiful baby OP. I'm sorry you've had such a lonely and difficult route to bring her to the world.

I like Camilla. But you know what? You just went through a difficult pregnancy and birth, you're very strong and resilient, don't doubt yourself. You get to choose and whatever you choose will be right.

As for the royal connection with Camilla, there have been lots of Elizabeth's over the past 80 years. Go with the name you like.

Use Mila.
Congratulations she's beautiful 💐

Congratulations, she's a beauty!

Not surprised you want a beautiful name. Camille is super! Camila is ok too, but the whole spelling thing will get annoying quickly (no, just the one 'L').

Hope you're doing ok, sounds like you went through the mill there. Whatever you choose will be lovely, you have great taste!

Mila as a full name imo.

She is gorgeous and very squishy. Congratulations to you OP!

I have a Camilla and no one has ever said ‘like the Queen’ to her - she’s annoyed at that! I’d spell it two ll’s though - don’t give her a name where she has to say with two ll’s. It is very rare we come across a misspelled name

@LBFseBrom

Camila with one L is 'Cam-EE-la'.
It's not Ca-MILE-a.

It's a Spanish name.

...meant to add, it took me 10 days to decide on a name for my middle son, some things can't be rushed and I think Camila is a lovely name and suits your new daughter.

Congratulations - she is beautiful.
I have a Camilla! She is 16 and only once, when she was a few weeks old, has anyone ever mentioned Parker-Bowles. And there’s been no mention of The Queen the last few months.

Camille seems to be popular in Europe and Camila in Hispanic cultures. My DD is beautiful inside and out, clever, a great sportswoman, an empathetic friend and a born leader.

Camilla is a most beautiful name, and is lovely with Eve.

Camila would spend her life correcting the spelling. Mila and similar derivatives are cute for a little girl, but I don't think they transfer well to adult names, and I think they will soon seem dated.

Just to throw in a favourite of mine with a similar vibe to Camilla, have you considered Corinna?

Congratulations on your beautiful daughter! Thanks Bear

Congratulations!

I prefer Camila to Camilla, and both are a legit spelling/name. I also love Milagra which means miracle.

Aoife. She looks like an Aoife to me and goes lovely with Orla.
I'm sorry camilla reminds me of the queen consul.
Congratulations. X

Yes I agree, Camilla goes best with Eve, by a long way.

Camilla is a lovely name, when I hear it I associate it with a lovely colleague. Not the Queen Consort.
She is beautiful, congrats Flowers
