Violet reminds me of Violet Beauregarde from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. "Violet! You're turning violet, Violet!"

Would depend what she looked like. Blonde - Grace, Dark - Violet

Love Violet.
Would have been DS's name had he been a girl. Agree with the other poster that said Violet Grace is lovely.

Just can not fathom those who say no to a name 'BECAUSE IT COULD SOUND LIKE"!?! If you change a letter in most games it could sound like millions of other words, Grace is just like Grate in that case, sorry!

I love Violet. Bit dark, which is always good in a pretty name! Grace is nice but a bit more bland maybe?

Grace.

Violet is too close to violent.

Violet is utterly stunning. So Violet by 100000 of miles over Grace (so so overused, mainly as an easy option "filler" middle name). My sisters just had a Violet literally everywhere we go and people ask her babies name, their eyes light up and they exclaim how much they adore it Smile

Grace. Both are popular but Grace is on the way down and Violet on the way up very fast.

I prefer Violet but only because I've never known one.
Grace is a nice name too, I know quite a few of a mixture of ages, none are under ten so I'm not sure how popular it is now.

I think both names are pretty timeless and lovely though.

Not keen on either but I'd go for Grace (definitively not Gracie). Although it's very popular.

Both are very common amongst DC (4)'s peers, and both a little unfortunate if the bearer turns out not to be graceful or flowery. I'm big and clumpy and prone to clumsiness, I'd have been terrible within a flower name.

Violet grace is lovely.

Violet was top of my girl list but then I had a wobble as think she'd get called viole_ (people dropping the T). I have a daughter with a name where all the kids drop the T and it bugs the heck outta me!

Violet. Gracie is everywhere (Gracie is awful as a full name as well, nn only)

I have used both of these names as middle names. I'd go Violet, but it's a tough choice as both are lovely.

I do love Grace as a name but if you don't want to have her in a class with other girls called Grace, go for Violet. NO Vi though pleeeeeaassseee!!!!

SpecialAgentFreyPie · 09/08/2016 15:35

Could you do both, with one as a middle name?
