Please don't tell me that I'm trying to be unique... I'm not - I just prefer these spellings. Darcie or Hayleigh? That's all I'm looking for Smile

Troll?! Oh sorry but surely a troll would come up with something more interesting? Like Humperdink?

Whats with all the snobbery?!!!!

Theres nothing wrong with these spellings and out the two prefer Hayleigh.

Was in a London baby group the other day and the names and spellings would 'boil MN's piss' and 'make teeth itch'.

I found it so interesting trying to match names to children and failed miserably!

Doh! I even reported the last time. How gullible am I today?

Your other DD is Madelyn? Presumably you are in the Southern USA then? In which case I'm sure either of your choices will be just lovely OP. Congratulations on your impending arrival Smile

Hayleigh is a bit common - as in frequently heard

Darcie. Sounds the same whatever spelling and both my kids need their names spelled out for strangers so I can't judge. But I love the name darcy/darcie and it makes me smile every time I meet a kid with it which isn't often.

Having read a couple of threads recently where 90% of posters couldn't care less about spelling people's names correctly, I would think long and hard about this, as it sounds like (both) your DC, and you and your DH, will have to accept that most people throughout their lives won't bother to spell their names as the are on their birth certificate. Which personally I find very sad, worse in fact than parents choosing different spellings.

Having said that, not keen on either of these, but Darcie at a push.

If you feel the need to comment on the spellings, don't comment**

So why ask for opinion on names which are clearly spelt differently to the normal spellings. OP you sound aggressive and defensive in your replies. Just choose a name!!!

I really like both names.

Probably prefer Darcie.
