Lovely and although I know LOADS born in the 70's/80's, you don't hear it much these days.

Emma is a nice name. I know it's top 5 in Canada (DH is Canadian) and we know 3 baby/toddler Emmas. Don't know any tiny British ones though.
I like Elizabeth a bit better, but if given a nn like Bess or Betsy. I dislike Liz, so would pick Emma over that.

I like it but sadly it is overused imo.

I like the pattern of the name so also really like Ella, Anna, Hannah.

However they are also overused imo :(

So how about sanna, mella, etta, Lola?

It's pretty but boring. A solid, 'don't draw any attention to yourself' kind of name.

Timeless classic. Suits any age. Beautiful.

I like it, and think it is way nicer than Elizabeth, which i know most people love but I just find it Dull and a bit ugly.

I like it and I prefer it to Elizabeth.

I quite like it, as well as other "Em" names like Emmeline, Emily etc.

Emma is beautiful name , was alway going to call my daughter it even before I knew I was having a girl lol
Black mogul think your being a bit harsh

They are both beautiful classic names. Elizabeth has more potential for nicknames.

Emma is a nice classic name but I prefer Elizabeth lots of lovely nn possibilities can I suggest Besty? And is my dd middle name so obviously fabulous

I too think it is lovely and under used. Only one in DC's school

Report
NowPlayingZone · 05/07/2013 22:14

Way nicer than Elizabeth, now that is dull.

Report
Kaekae · 05/07/2013 22:12

It is ok, a bit boring. It is my middle name, prefer it over my first name.

superdupermama · 05/07/2013 22:12

Ok, see your points. How would you rate it against Elizabeth?

Boring but classic

It's a beautiful name - it's classic and so I honestly don't think it matters if lots of others use it.
