Not love at first sight but it could be a grower.

SIBS not sins!! What a super auto correct for a biblical name thread!

I was surprised when I got the text. The little chap is 6 weeks early but doing well and breathing on his own (3lbs). It seems a big name for such a tiny boy but he will be known as Zeke. It has grown on me and now I love it :-)
Mum is actually my cousin's dd but have always been 'Auntie' and I have no sins so she is very special to me.

Love that this thread has turned into a 'saved by the bell' discussion! I believe there was also a Zeke on 'neighbours' a while ago Blush. Personally I love the name but pretty sure dp wouldn't agree unfortunately.

oooh... just googled. the series was called 'brimstone'.

gosh that was a long time ago.

i think the mae is very classy and classic though. :) Love that these proper bibilical names are coming back. (someone mentioned Eli the other day). Gorgeous.

I love these Old testament underused names. i wanted Ezekiel also- but that was down to a tv series when i was in my teens that featured a very sexy fallen angel called ezekiel and the devil played by john glover.

I think it is a really cool name.

I know someone who's surname is Ezekiel. Quite cool for a first name.

That's Screech!

AKiss - you are right but Zach and Zeke were mates.

Ezekiel is one of the most bonkers books in the Bible, clear evidence of drug taking IMO. But I don't think she has picked it for religious reasons - it's not as bad as people who name their kids Cain.

I like it! Congratulations to your niece and to you on the arrival if your great nephew :)

The main character in saved by the bell was Zack.

ArtigeneAuberchoke · 19/01/2013 13:22

It's very religious. Although having said that, the more unusual old testament names are becoming popular with a very nonreligious set right now (eg Chris Evans, Elton John).

Does anyone remember a 1980s US sitcom called "Saved By The Bell". The main character was Zeke.

Those are my only two associations.

Not keen. Trying to hard. But that's just my opinion - each to our own etc etc.

Lovely name, and will be quite unusual in UK because it is so scriptural.
