AIBU?

To want to strangle people that keep asking me "Is the baby here yet?!"

AHHHH

Its driving me absolutely bonkers. I know I should be greatful that people care etc, but UGH. One friend is texting me EVERY DAY to ask if I'm having contractions. Surely people realise that I will actually let them know when he arrives??

Admittedly I might just be very very hormonal right now, but am only 38+3, and all I keep thinking is that I could possibly have three weeks plus of this!!

My father did this, he seemed to think it was hilarious I was more than a week overdue as well. He wasn't asking because he wanted to meet the baby, just because he seemed to think it was funny to ask, like one of those things you say to pregnant women, that you think they haven't heard before

I did say in the end "yes, I had the baby yesterday I just thought I wouldn't bother to tell you"...there was silence and I said that he was doing the most annoying thing ever and did he really think that I wouldn't tell him.

He was actually not offended and he didn't ask again

I am proud - acceptance, and reduction, are the first steps towards recovery

39 weeks today. Had contractions on and off all weekend - am currently having one now - but just kinda waiting around twiddling my thumbs at the moment!!

Do let us know when your friends little one arrives

Hi Erika has your baby arrived yet??

I hope you will be proud, I have only texted my friend twice today. She's 5 days over so I'm wondering if she's had the baby and is just hiding from me now!!!!!

Good luck, I'll keep checking on you!

ERIKA, the couple next door to DH1 have had a baby boy today (week over due) I wonder if they will call him COLIN

I called the baby Colin just now I have a horrible horrible feeling that will be the poor lads nickname because of you haha!!!

Just been asked if I'm still hanging around Boots for free stuff in case I give birth. I have had very little sleep as have been up every hour or so with contractions. Tempted to ask DP to hide my phone so I don't explode

Kimi will you bloody stop it?! You're stalking me and now the whole of MN thinks my baby is called Colin - just told DP and his expression was priceless

at "Where your son left it", that's brilliant. Though I will have to bite my tounge from now on!!

Found out earlier that it is driving DP just as mad, apparently people keep asking him if he's a Dad yet / if I've "popped the sprog"

"Where's my Grandchild then?"

I never said "Where your son left it,"

ROFL!!!!

SOOOOOoo hope MIL or FIL ask this!

Erika I feel your pain. I had to call screen every phone call when I was heavily pregnant as one friends used up all my maternity leave phoning me and checking I was ok. ( I wouldn't mind so much but when SHE had a baby - early- she actually did forget to get her DH to call and we only found out 3 weeks later!!!)

My MIL used to say - lightheartedly - when DS1 was overdue.

"Where's my Grandchild then?"

I never said "Where your son left it," but was often sorely tempted.

As I got more and more overdue DH made me ring him at work at intervals during the day just to tell him nothing was happening .

I felt like the fecking town crier. "Twelve o'clock and aaaaaalll's welllll!!!"

Kimi go play in the traffic... grumpy

Neasta I'll probably have to resist doing the same thing. Mine has booked the EDD and the day after off work - so she can come meet the baby She's lovely really, am actually very fond of her, but that is totally unrealistic!!!

YANBU. Its very frustrating and people seem to think that as soon as you hold and bond with your beautiful child for the first time, you will actually be keen to be texting everyone in your phone instead.

MY MIL and mother rang every day to ask if I'd had it yet and the temptation to be sarcastic was overwhelming- "yes, he's 2 weeks old, sorry, thought you knew".

Thankfully DH waded in when MIL rang and told me to "hurry up"!

Am rather grouchy today so you lot have made me giggle. I was up for hours with contractions and then they stopped. Kimi am blaming you

2shoes you know you'll be getting a cuddle - I'd never be forgiven otherwise

Toadstool yeah that must have been infuriating... Sympathy!!
