To wonder why people argue on here?

I have just seen a thread (probaly can't find it again, I'm new and finding my way!!) but two people kept posting to each other along the lines of

"that's not what the OP asked why are you butting in"

and

"I can say what I like, it's a public forum! bla bla bla"

I'm a bit shocked - does that happen a lot?

Why don't people just stop posting? It seems so silly!

But after that thread gets to 1000, you'll see another one pop up 'Part duex'
And some threads get nasty, and get deleted, so keep your eye on chat, one is bound to pop up saying 'Did that really nasty thread get deleted?' 'What nasty thread?' 'The one where Cod threatened to get Fabio spayed' 'Reeeeeally? that's terrible!' and so on. then it gets deleted.

Oh really VS thank goodness Tom knows bedtime is bedtime he goes to bed at 7.30 and wakes up at about 7 just a shame that I cant put him down at all in the daytime I have now got used to one hand typing lol! Some people are determined to get the last word.

When a thread reaches 1000 posts, you can't post on it any more, and everyone breathes a sigh of relief.

That something else that happens. A poster gets her knickers in a twist and then starts a thread in Chat stating that "Mumsnet is full of nasty bitches so I'm going to never post again coz I hate you all and I'm going to cry and hide in N*m*s where I'll get lots of {{{{{hugs}}}} and get called hun".

And then they continue to post when everyone replies to them to point and laugh.

You will also find that some posters get their knickers in a twist over spelling mistakes, and some when they are losing an interesting debate and not really manage to put their arguments together, stoop to the "oh but you cant spell" or "excuse me, it is Winehouse, not Whitehouse, you cant even spell so what do you know" trap.
