I guess that's pretty much it. DH and I have been happily married for a decade now, were together for five years before marrying. We are happy as it is with our pets but I would love to be a mum. I get down however anytime if I mention this to family and friends however. They all feel we are too old, both having turned 34 this summer... it makes me sad but a part of me feels I am being U and maybe everyone has a point. So wwyd?

My mum made a similar comment when I had my first at 25! Second at 27 and third I was 34.
Be warned though, they will write elderly in your maternity notes though!

Seriously though op I think you need to stop talking to people about it who aren't supportive. concentrate on you and your dh and whatever decision you come to. X

The average age to have a first baby in the UK is 30. Lots of educated people have their first between 35 and 40.

Definitely not!

Have a child, don’t miss out if it’s important to you

I thought you were going to say you're in your mid 40s! No you're not too old, that would still seem quite young where I live!

I was 41 when I fell pregnant with my daughter. That was in 2015. Stuff what others think. Do what is right for
You. I never found the right man till i met my partner. I was the same age as what my mum was when she fell pregnant with me. Everything turned out fine. 😀

I was still career building and partying at 34- absolutely no plans for children at all!

I met my dh when I was 35, got married at 36, baby a few weeks before my 37th birthday. Of course you're not too old to be a mum, go for it, that's what I say Smile And dh is several years older than me too.

My mum had me at 36, sis at 38 and bro at 41! I'm 30 so we are talking a good few years ago. She was considered to be an "older" mum back then (older not old), but this is normal age for a lot of women to have kids now. Sod what anyone else thinks you do whatever you want!

I was 33 when I had my DS, turned 34 a couple months later.

I had mine at 37 (just) and made lots of friends the same age. I only ever wanted one but out of five of us only one other had a second naturally, and one through ivf after lots of mcs and pain. I didn’t try for a second but two others did and failed with mc and heartache.

So if you want more than one child please start trying now.

That is absolutely ridiculous. Honestly, it made me laugh out loud. I didn't MEET my partner until I was 34. Had DD1 at 38 and DD2 at 41. You are a spring chicken.

I had DD at 35 and DS at 40, and actually DS was easier - down to his personality, not my age.
My Mum had me at 33 and DSis at 38. I remember a friend whose parents were younger asking me what it wa like having old parents and I was just Confused because it was what it was - there didn't seem to be anything we didn't do because of it.Though maybe there would have been less parental napping after Sunday lunch - that used to annoy my sis so much !
