Posting here for traffic

Took my son to the doctors on Monday as he got a rash/spots on his forehead, she said he seemed fine and said it was heat rash. However this morning it’s flared up on his cheek even though we’ve made sure he hasn’t been hot at any point. I’ve had a google (I know, Dr Google) and it also looks like baby acne? (Included a screenshot of baby acne)
He isn’t unwell at all and is feeding fine and has the normal amount of wet nappies.
He was really poorly after birth with sepsis so I’m probably airing on the side of caution but it’s really stressing me outSad

He's just yummy Smile

I totally understand your worry, and as an HCP I know that GPs will never mind you taking a tiny baby if you're worried about them. However if he is otherwise totally well - feeding, sleeping, alert when awake, normal temperature, weeing and pooing as expected then it's very unlikely anything is wrong.

Remember he's been swimming in fluid for months and he's only been out in air for 2 weeks - his skin has a bit of adjusting to do! Avoid soaps, washes and creams and minimise washing powder and fabric softener products. Keep things simple. Don't go overboard with oils and lotions especially on his face - the skin is largely self regulating but see the HV or GP if you have any persistent spots, sores or rashes you're worried about.

Coconut oil can be drying.

He’s gorgeous. :) I’m sorry to say that you’ll be worrying about him from now until the end of your life. You get used to it though and it’s totally worth it.

Agree with everyone saying baby acne! My DD had it sooo bad, it literally covered her entire face Sad It didn't bother her though and there's not really much you can do for it, other than gently wipe with cool water. I can't remember now how long it lasted but probably not more than 3-4 weeks.

Gorgeous baby! If the HV isn't able to provide reassurance then please do see your GP. It's only natural you will worry after he has already been so poorly. My DS was very poorly as a baby - his temperature shot up with tonsillitis and I found him unconscious in his cot. It was absolutely terrifying and when I rang 999 and the operator answered with "which service do you need" I couldn't even process that we needed an ambulance and just blurted out "my baby's ill". She was lovely and put me through, the ambulance was there within minutes and DS was home with antibiotics and much better within 6 hours. But I'm scarred by it. Totally scarred. The first hint of a temperature and I'm mentally packing a bag in case we have to go in, and he's a robust school boy now. I keep hoping it will get better for me, and I hope it does for you too.

Congratulations on your gorgeous boy.
