To think DS has THE messiest maths book? -sigh-

17... and this is his neatest! His teacher is trying her best to not pull her hair out. This is his writing AFTER having to stay in at break to make it neater ConfusedBlush

It's matrices.

Very neat for matrices.

At least he's bothered to show his working.

egosumquisum1 · 31/03/2017 18:10

TBH - as long as the answer is correct, neatness isn't that big a deal. What's important is the steps to get there and if it's clear how they got there.

It could be really really neat but wrong.

MsAwesomeDragon · 31/03/2017 18:15

I'd be happy with that.
This is an example of properly messy work (again this is after it's been written out again to make it neater), and even this is better than it was at the start of the year.

Pestilentialone · 31/03/2017 18:16

That is so neat I would question if he had a clue what he was doing.

x2boys · 31/03/2017 18:20

i have no clue what any of it means[ failed maths GCSE three times] but it looks neat to me.

user0000000001 · 31/03/2017 18:21

Good God....

Honestly, OP. Get a life.

BagittoGo · 31/03/2017 18:22

Is this a reverse?

PhilODox · 31/03/2017 18:23

If you think that's bad, you should see how most undergraduate mathematicians write!

egosumquisum1 · 31/03/2017 18:25

Is this a reverse

Grin

I was thinking that

Schoolisback1973 · 31/03/2017 18:28

Seriously? its not messy.. very neat except for a couple of errors he had to cross out...
Its clear and neat enough to be marked so I am not sure what the teacher wants here. Did he do the exercise well at least? shouldn't that be the concern?
You both should back off in regards to his handwriting.. he is not 6...
Does he know you have posted this?

Tweedledee3Tweedledum · 31/03/2017 18:46

It looks absolutely fine to me. No problem with that at all. I have seen much worse.

UnlikelyRunner · 31/03/2017 18:51

Why on earth do you see your 17 year old's books? Stop hovering over him!

KindDogsTail · 31/03/2017 18:53

It looks very ordered and neat to me!

Seryph · 31/03/2017 18:53

I literally could not copy that out as neatly, and I'm 27!

DoItTooJulia · 31/03/2017 18:55

I clicked on this hoping to feel better about my ds's maths presentation. Didn't work.

SuperPug · 31/03/2017 19:05

I was expecting likes everywhere, messy pencil marks. This looks like great work?

startwig1982 · 31/03/2017 19:39

I teach a level maths and that is neater than both the lads in my class. No problem at all.

LouBlue1507 · 31/03/2017 19:43

As long as the maths is right, who cares!

StarUtopia · 31/03/2017 19:43

I'm surprised at all of the maths teachers saying it's neat compared to their pupils.

This wouldn't have been acceptable at my school (as in, when I was a pupil). I'm still ingrained in 'one digit per box' when working in a maths exercise book!

It is legible though, which is surely the main thing? But I certainly would be a lot neater than this - maybe OP has high standards like I do?! Grin

VladmirsPoutine · 31/03/2017 19:46

Has anyone mentioned that it's actually quite neat?

FuckyNell · 31/03/2017 20:21

Good grief

kurlique · 31/03/2017 20:28

🙄

TipTop333 · 31/03/2017 20:28

No teacher ever would complain about this work.

We have bigger fish to fry.

Like teaching.

Has to be a weird reverse.

Spam88 · 31/03/2017 20:32

He's in sixth form/college and his teacher's keeping him in at break time to rewrite his work...? Wow...

VeryButchyRestingFace · 31/03/2017 20:34

His handwriting is perfectly acceptable.

What's really eating you, OP?

I'd ask what his bedroom is like but I'm worried you'd probably upload pics. Grin
