AIBU?

AIBU to think 6 pairs of underpants in not sufficient?

I was visiting my parents and DF came out of shower complaining he had no clean underpants in drawer. He had to wait for the wash my DM was doing to finish, and them tumble dry the three pairs of underpants that were in there( among other things obviously). When I asked if they had had trouble with washing machine and had been unable to do washing DM said no. DF had three more pairs of pants in laundry basket which makes a total of 6. DM saw no problem in this - God knows what they do when they go on holiday for longer than a week. My DH ,DD and myself have at least 14 pairs each. My DPs are in their 70s, is this an age thing?

I've survived a two week hiking trip with three pairs. One on, one in the pack and one pair washed and pinned to the pack to dry. I've known people make do with two pairs but it's risky if the weather doesn't stay dry.

I Konmari'd my underwear when we moved last year but probably still have 20-30 pairs of pants. They're a mix of styles and almost all are black or 'black and something'. Most of my bras are also black so I don't have matching underwear angst. I have a couple of nude pairs to go with the 2 nude bras that I own and a couple of fancy La Perla bra and pant sets that don't get worn very often.

I think DP has about 20 pairs of boxers. Left to his own devices he would still have every pair he's bought in the last 20 years as he's allergic to throwing away old clothes but I purged his collection when we moved and bought him some nice new ones.

Don't get me started on socks though, I love socks and even after getting rid of loads of old pairs I still have far too many.

Pregnant at the moment, so recently did a big knocker drawer clear out where I archived/binned knickers that wouldn't fit. I reckon I probably have 40+ pairs in there now. Maybe 20 full briefs and 20 non maternity knickers that will fit under the bump. I would like to match my bra and knickers, but that only tends to work if you're wearing a dress - so same top and bottom, or wearing jeans - can wear any colour texture underneath.

""When I km'd my knickers I had 80 pairs. I'm probably down to around 40 now""

I was starting to think that I was the line KMer.

I've got around 15/18 daytime ones, because they come in packs of five. Then a few of Nude and Black VLP, a couple of hold-ins. So under 30, but all needed.

I tend to by bras with a bit of black on them, somewhere, so they go with black knickers.

6 pairs is madness. We all have about 15 pairs. I also have naice pants. However I can't get past this

rarely wear knickers as find them extremely uncomfortable. (Don't wear skirts very often either as that necessitates knickers)

So you wear jeans/trousers and no knickers? What kind of weird ass underwear is more uncomfortable than the crotch of jeans?

I'm quite disappointeddistressed that no one has factored in bedtime knickers whilst divulging their knicker wearing regimes....what if there was a fire people??!! 😱😱😱😂

Don't you have different style/colour pants for different outfits or moods though? Or to go with other underwear? How odd to just have 6 pairs of pants.

Think I have about 20 pants but don't count them - there always enough. 6 ismadness.

Dp and I both have a zillion. We do have favorites though that we wear more often (as in the lacey ones just for a treat but the big comfy cotton ones get worn almost every day).

I must have well over 30 pairs. I take about 20 for a two week holiday- a clean pair for each evening, a few extra for when I'm not on the beach all day, and a couple of spares.

Perhaps it's not a problem because (whispers) your father prefers to go commando. (uncomfortable emoticon)

Glad I am not the only one with multiple knickers. They are my 'treat' when back in the UK and either in M&S or Sainsbury's. I do have 5 pairs of matching bra/knicker sets for special occasion, but the bras are worn everyday, and I just chuck on which knickers come to hand. Some of my knickers predate ds who is 22 this year. but they are for when I get an upset tummy.

I buy dh's underwear when I am in the UK, and his old ones get washed, cut up, and used as soft polishing rags for his beloved sports car.

I have around 30 but probably only wear 5 as the washing machine is on daily and I'm a 'grab what's on top of the pile' type

way, not easy, but I do do it for ease

It's normal to have a whole draw full isn't it? Growing up in the 70 s there want loads of anything, but we still had a draw full of pants each.....
My kids have loads, I never have to keep on top of it, and that's the easy I like it .

I think I have about 12 knickers? 6 sounds not enough!

I have about 20. But if I'm travelling I wash my underwear as soon as I change them so there isn't dirty underwear in hotel rooms, suitcase etc. So if I was travelling for say a month I would still only wear a pair and take maybe 3 spare pairs.

God we have loads. But I can't be certain I wash pants every time I put a wash on. I mean, it's likely there'll be at least one pair in there but it's not like I keep track.

We have a drawerful each. Mine range from tatty to day wear to some sets with a matching bra. Most are boy shorts style. About 30 pairs I estimate.
DH has boxers and trunks- ranging from motheaten to brand new. He won't throw any away. Probably has more than me.

Parker I brought dh 4x4 packs of boxers today, as they where in the sale in Debenhams, other than that I have no idea how many he owns.

He did buy some socks in the next sale however, he brought a 7 pack and thought it meant he had to times the amount by 7... Hmm

I dont even know how much underwear I have, my underwear drawer is full to the brim tho, I also have monthly knickers, just plain black and white M&S knickers for that time of the month.

According to the ladybird book of the student one pair per term is adequate, though there is a suggestion febreeze and Imodium are required.

I've got a drawer full including some thongs I'll probably never wear again but not worn enough to chuck. Maybe 3 weeks worth?

I have no idea how many pairs I own...it's not feeling drafty so I guess the answer is enough! 6 would probably do though. In the forces 3 days kit meant you were equipped to be detached for anywhere between a couple of days and six months!

I have about 20 - all with matching bras. I had a sort out a couple of weeks ago but will probably start buying more again soon - love buying nice underwear. I've no idea how many pairs DH has - he buys his own. Doesn't everyone 's DH buy their own?
