. . . to ask how much you pay for your electric

I have just put my meter readings in today and they are OFF THE SCALE!!!!! For some reason I have used more than 25% more this month than last month.

So, I wondered if anyone would mind telling me what they pay as a comparison.

We only have electric (no gas in the village), 4 bed semi, 1930's, shit double glazing, SAHD and 2yr old. This month we used 1288 units which is £160!!!! But last month £112 and month before £122.

I’m paying £30.33 a month for electric on bulb! My sister is paying £50 for both electric and gas they’ve been so good! I’d recommend.. if they’ve seen you’ve use less electric they refund you which they review every 3 months ! Also have the warm home discounts which is helpful:) if you use think link we both get £50!

OIur combined gas and electricity is between £200 and £250 a month.

But we do have a koi pond and a hot tub

Does anyone have any recommendations as to which Energy supplier is reliable and reasonably priced. As I'll be moving into a 2 bed flat with my son very soon and have spent ages checking but still don't have a clue. Oh electricity only. Thanks

Why heating on 24/7? It's not that cold in the UK.
I'm in Scotland and never have the heating on over night or before 7.30am

£876 a year, prepay edf for both.
3 bed maisonette. Terrible Windows that won't close properly.
Drier on a lot. Fish tank. PS3 and 4 on for hours. Plus the usual pcs, laptops, mobiles, handhelds, sky etc, mobiles etc.

£120 per month for both gas and electric. Pretty big 3 bed house and I'm a SAHM so we're in quite a lot. Washer and dryer are on at least once a day though and we keep the house quite warm.

UK 6 bed Edwardian house. Single glazed, heating on 24/7 and tumble dryer used. Computers a lot of them.

4 bed detached, built of old stone. Carer to disabled H so home all day plus 2 teenage DC. Pay £110 per month electric, use bottled gas for cooking, about 3 bottles a year (£150). Heating is oil though, that works out at about £60 a month. Looking to move soon!

About €60 - €80 a month for electricity (in Ireland). For our hob we have canister butane (which I loathe), a canister is about €30, which lasts maybe 4 months, depending on how much we use the hob.

Heating and hot water is mains gas, works out at around €240 a month.

Other than rent, gas is our biggest monthly expense. If we're cold we tend to layer on sweaters and wrap up in blankets, we put on the heating as little as possible, and it still costs a bloody fortune!

£70.50 a month to E.on for both gas and leccy. 4 bed detached new build. Used to pay £80 a month but got £67 back in February when we switched from Sainsburys energy to E.on. 2 adults, 2 kids. Both of us work but kids and I are home from 3.30pm week days and most of the weekend. Heating set to come if indoor temp drops below 18 degrees. Use dishwasher daily and tumble dryer once a week. I do find that the carpeted areas of the house remain very warm long after the heating has switched off. Thank God for good insulation. I'm amazed by the variety on this thread!

We have gas and electricity but we only use the gas once in a blue moon when it's freezing cold. The rest of the time we use electric oil filled radiators. Readings are below:
