AIBU to ask if anyone here has had anything done? If so, were you happy with the outcome?

Hi Op. Fillers were painful-more so than Botox. I didn't notice any difference to my nasolabials. I looked like a pillow, Imo.

The lunchtime facelift is a procedure whereby stitches are inserted into your face and pulled taut. It's not as invasive as a full facelift and apparently quite effective for combatting jowliness. No downtime, hence the name.

I've had cheek fillers (fat transferred from my abdomen to cheekbone area)

I was told at the time that it was 'semi-permanent' and would last a max of 18 months. 6 years on and they are still going strong.

The slightly odd thing is that my 'cheekbones' now behave just like normal fat stores in that when I gain weight, they get more pronounced (in a good way).

I think I am unusual though, can't promise this will be the case for everyone.

Hi OP. I've had cheek fillers-around 5 years ago. I didn't look like a hamster/Felicity kendall/Lulu on a bad day *delete as applicable** just more volume and definition. Lasted around 8-9 months.

Have also had lip fillers twice (not for volume-my lips are quite full, but for definition) botox about 5-6 times around my eyes and in the forehead, IPL to boost collagen and peels (not medical grade but still effective) and teeth whitening twice.

Plan on a tummy tuck and brow lift next year

Breast reduction and uplift 4 weeks ago. Only wish I had done it years ago am delighted with the outcome and was nowhere near as painful as I assumed it would be.

oldjoanie thank you Smile

Yes he was struck off and I think he may have served some time in prison for it

I've had a breast aug. I would also maybe have a mini tummy tuck.

I am not sure actually. I had my nose done (due to several breaks in my late teens) and boobs reduced. Some people don't class that as cosmetic surgery. I consider the boobs cosmetic surgery and to some degree the nose to, though it was causing breathing problems. Very very happy with the results from both.

stinkylinky love the name btw - was watching ZAMMAP just the other day Smile

And sorry to hear about your mom's experience, that sounds terrible. Did the surgeon get struck off or anything for it?

Breast uplift and implants after EBF two babies for 10 months.

Had the surgery 5 years ago.

They were a wreck, best thing I ever spent £5k on.

currently 35+2 and planning on EBF again, and worried for my boobies

My mum had a botched facelift when she was younger, there was a huge scandal regarding the surgeon and I remember him being all over the news at the time. She was left with bad scarring but now works in the cosmetic surgery field and passionate when it comes to making sure her clients are matched to the correct surgeon for them and their needs.

I had breast uplift and implants about 5 years ago, which im mostly delighted with. My poor old boobs took a complete battering with gaining and losing 7 or 8 cup sizes with each pregnancy, and it bothered me a lot, Couldnt bear the thought of having boobs like that for the rest of my life, so once id finished feeding my last child, I looked into it, and saved up.

Only thing else ive had done is i tried botox and fillers once, but whilst it looked nice, it doesnt last long enough for it to be worth the money.

I'm seriously considering a "lunchtime" facelift to the bottom of my face. Cost: about £1500. Minimally invasive. I've had Botox and fillers in the past. I like the sound of composite bonding on teeth.

Thanks for the replies!! I'm strongly considering cheek fillers and a tca peel but have never had anything done before. Would consider a facelift at some point too, way down the line, would be curious to hear if anyone's had anything like that done!!

Ariadne were you happy with the results? Was there anything about the outcome that you weren't expecting? How have friends and family reacted (if they've noticed at all!)? Sorry, hope you don't mind all the questions!!

This was more cosmetic dentistry than surgery but I had composite bonding on my two front teeth to cover chips and uneven edges. Much less expensive than veneers and completely reversible with no loss of tooth. Probably won't last as long but cheap enough to replace every 10-15 years depending on how well they're looked after.

Talis I also would like to hear the answers to the questions lego asked, but do you mind me asking how much you paid?

Very cheeky I know, but it's something I've always wanted!

talis do you mind me asking what veneers those were? I want need veneers but I'm horrified at the thought of having my teeth filed away.

I had a non surgical nose job, basically filler in places to make it look straighter in profile. It was temporary of course, until I could afford a real one.

I am still waiting for it. I am booking a consultation in the next few months though, and aim to have a new nose for christmas!

HellKitty · 16/06/2015 08:40

I had my nose done 20 years ago. He took the slight 'hook' off the end but I've never been happy with his work. I really want a new nose and have just persuaded DP that it would make me happy (happier).

Not strictly cosmetic, but since having had a double mastectomy last year, I am due to have a bilateral tram flap reconstruction later this year. It's where they use all the excess skin and fat from your abdomen to make you new breasts. I'm torn over what size of breasts to go for.

Ilovesooty - yes, I regard them as cosmetic (totally), just not 'surgery'

BTW - I was supposed to be an 'Ariadne' but made a typo when I first registered on Mumsnet. Grin
