Says Ds friend to me just now. Apparently, his family 'don't do' Pizza Hut.

Wibu not to take the ungrateful git anywhere for lunch now?

First time he's been to our house. So far, I've been told how small it is, asked how much dh earns, asked if this is a council house and asked why we didn't wait to have baby dd until we had a bigger house.

Ds is mortified.

Dd had a friend come round for the first time.

She called her fat. Told me I had a double chin, called my 3 year old ugly to her face and then told her parents we lived in a “shared house”, she meant a semi detached. Safe to say Dd isn’t her friend anymore.

whyareyouall a zombie thread is a thread that is years old that someone posts on. Then people end up writing on it without realising it is years old!

@JasonPollack

Nope, not a racist at all. Although I was expecting the typical lazy accusatory response, designed to stifle debate. Yes, I do care about other animal welfare issues. I also care about the issue of respect and consent. Places that only serve Halal meat fail to put this information on the menu (it's usually concealed somewhere deep within their websites). So most people are unaware and denied the choice over whether they would want their meat slaughtered or blessed in accordance with one religion. I wouldn't go into a restaurant and (if I were religious), insist upon saying the lord's prayer and bless someone else's food. For what it's worth, the British Council of Muslims also supports this stance (that consumers should be clearly informed and have a choice). And yes I am aware that 97percent of halal meat in the UK is stunned first prior to slaughter. I just do not think that it is right that religion should trump animal welfare or consent.

I wouldn’t have knocked. I’d just have sent him in. Then, when he told his darling mama that he had been sent home for rudeness I’d have waited for the text and just said “yes, he was unbearably rude so I dropped him off. He isn’t welcome again.”

Except he’s 18 now, so is probably running for Parliament. Hmm
