to not tie myself in knots trying to be discreet while breastfeeding.

I'm about to namechange anyway so I don't care about the flaming I'm about to get.

I have massive boobs and oversupply so breastfeeding discreetly is difficult. I also use a sling so I get very warm with DS's body against mine. If I wear a vest top underneath my normal top I overheat. It it really so bad to not give a shit who sees what while I'm breastfeeding? It's not like I'm waving my boobs about, just lifting my top to feed my baby but that might mean a flash of nipple now and again.

YAcompletelyBU. I'm not very big - back to C cup by the time DDs were about 6 weeks old but buckets of milk - but both of mine became Mrs Popoff from about 3 months because hey, looking around is sooo much more interesting than food. Even if you're starving, apparently.

You soon learn not to give a shit. I had no legal protection, so I developed a death stare instead. To be honest, the vast majority of people were fine and although I got a few looks, the only comments I got were positive.

BF is not a shameful thing that needs to be hidden away.

I'm not particularly discreet either - I prefer wrap dress or buttoned shirts as I find it easier than vests and tops. Once the baby is on you can't see any more flesh than if I was wearing a low cut top anyway.

YANBU, I wish I didn't care, I too have big boobs, and my LO has lip tie so comes off all the time so I wear this stupid apron thing that draws loads of attention because then I'm faffing around trying to get him on because he hates it and then he doesn't feed properly and so he isn't happy and I end up going home! I'm hoping I get more confident all being well!

I just yanked my top down and to one side, no one ever batted an eyelid!

Well, apart from the one time my mum insisted I cover up (getting measured for nursing bras in vair naice department store, first time we'd made it out in public together, ds only a few days old)

It's the only time I've actually sobbed in frustration when trying to breastfeed no that it was alway easy, but this was proper heaving sweating stressiness

We are only the centre of our own little universes. The rest of the world are remarkable oblivious. When was the last time you noticed a mum breastfeeding in a cafe? Bet you they were there, you were just caught up in your own world, like me Wink

Yanbu! I also have big boobs and oversupply, and being totally discrete is just impossible. I got so stressed about it with ds that I ended up very isolated when he was a baby. This time round I don't have that choice as ds needs to be out and about.
