I do, but then I'm into art. I would not expect Joe Bloggs down the road who doesn't give a monkies about art to recognise her or know of her work. I would expect the general non art loving public to know artists like Van Gogh and Picasso as they are more widely known about.

Wow, really Gracelo? I'd ask you to spill the rest of the questions but I guess it's possible they haven't filmed it yet. I said that I thought she was less than 15 percent - in the 5 to 15 range.

I was on a Pointless panel a few weeks ago (one of those 100 people they ask each question, not on the show) and Frida Kahlo was one of the answers. It won't be a pointless answer on the show.

I know who she was but my dad knew the artist Marevna who had a child with Rivera called Marika who he was very close to. I remember them well and was taught a lot about that era of art from the people who lived it. She was pretty fabulous.

I assumed when op said "most people" she didn't mean most people on Mumsnet, she meant most people in the general population. Probably the UK general population.

I would bet my house on most people (ie. over 50%) on Mumsnet not knowing who Frida is either, but naturally the thread has been visited by lots who do.
