to ask for a Hitachi Magic Wand as birthday present from my partner?

I've heard the most wonderful things about the Hitachi Magic Wand and I'd love to have one but should I buy it myself or suggest it to my partner as a birthday present?

I wouldn't want to make him him feel he isn't 'enough' by making the request, because he's very good in bed actually.

Would I be being unreasonable?

As far as I know, they've removed the Hitachi name from the wand and it's now called the 'Original' Magic Wand.

Hitachi don't make them anymore, unless they have got over their embarrassment. They discontinued it after it was featured on SATC and sales sky-rocketed!

I'm not really worried about it being plugged into the wall socket as long as the cord is sufficiently long to allow me to recline in comfort while I'm buzzing myself into blissful oblivion.

After all, we use lots of hand-held electrical appliances every day and I've not yet managed to electrocute myself.

Having said that, if I am going to electrocute myself, I'd prefer that the 240 volt current didn't run up anything that was, er... shall we say, 'super conductive' at the time - but that's the risk you take I suppose when you're seeking the finest private pleasures.

The bloody thing is just too intense :( And plug hums if left plugged in so not exactly stand-by ready. And yes, noise level is ridiculous... You (l) feel like a bad parent just turning it on with children (DD) in the house! Definitely not sexy making afaiac but I am at a loss as to how to get rid. Freecycle perhaps?

I agree with those who say there's no gentle setting. It's too intense. Okay on the back (which I believe is what it was originally designed for), but I wouldn't buy one to use on more intimate areas unless I'd already tried one and knew it worked for me. It does really work for some people, but not everyone. Plus I don't like having to plug it in. I like such things to come with less risk of entanglement or at worse, electrocution.
