AIBU?

To think this man should have apologised (trivial)

On busy train to work this morning, train stops, everyone gets up and moves into the aisle. Man next to me remains seated and starts fussing with his bag and accidentally drops his laptop straight onto my foot! I say ouch and all he does reach down and pick up the laptop and glare at me as if it were my foots fault he dropped his laptop on it. I said something along the lines of its polite to apologise and he continues to just glare at me. I definitely didn't knock his arm or anything to make him drop it. Huge bruise on my foot now, really painful. Surely it's common decency to apologise, accident or not. Right?

well lets break it down .... in order to give a definitive analysis I need to know the following

did the train reaaally stop or give a final chug making the laptop jump from his hands which in effect would be the train drivers fault and he should apologise

when standing were you still within your designated seating area? as in if there was an invisible chalk line were you over his half??? then you were trespassing

and finally have you even thought to google that perhaps a STARE is a cultural "i'm so so so sorry" in a different country?

ilovesooty your grasping at straws there with the 100 posts ... perhaps though we should run down a list of what is and isn't allowed on AIBU. vodkajelly cant start us off.

blueraincoat I hated commuting on a train. between loud talkers, eaters, bo, perfume, sitting beside me when train empty (ugh) and starers I swear if that was me that got me toe smashed by a falling laptop so you do have my sympathies.

but in future (this is for vodkajelly) ... ahem ... (clears throat) please refrain from using AIBU for such trivial nonsense and take thee to the Chat! (points yonder with nose in air)

The residue water found in shop bought sushi boxes. I didn't know it was a thing either. I say covered, more of a light splashing, but still... Blacklisted.

Yes way home thankfully, her reaction was to reassure me "it's only water" Yes, mank sushi water. Again no apology. What is it about commuting that kills people's politeness eh?

Haha thanks Fluckered, he is on my commuter black list along with the woman who accidentally got sushi water all over me. I'm just not cut out for commuting...

well ye might meet him again on the train. perhaps limp when you catch his eye glare back at him and shout "hope ye broke your hard drive ye inconsiderate shit. YOU'LL BE HEARING FROM MY LAWYER". THEN post back his reaction and we can tell you if he was being unreasonable.
