To peg my washing out over night

I am new to this, but as I am saving any way I can to get out of debt ASAP I bought a washing line. ( saved £7 this week by not using the tumble dryer)

So do I peg out my washing tonight.

Why did he complain? Because, apparently, hanging your washing out on the line is against the rules of the flats we live in.

I had high hopes for you up until that comment cozietoes.

I must point out that just because heels are hung pointing the same way it does not mean that the hanger of the socks is anal about ironing! I don't iron socks, underwear or even bedding (shhh don't tell anyone).

We live in a flat and we aren't allowed to dry washing in communal areas including our own terraces/balconies! It's frustrating as the sun we've had would have done a lovely job on the reuseable nappies. Enjoy your pegging all!

News flash. Your neighbours don't care about your washing. They seriously could not care less about your washing if they tried. Your washing is deeply boring and mundane to your neighbours. It is even more boring than their own washing ... and that is saying something, because their own washing bores them rigid.

When was the last time you noticed your neighbours' washing? Never, right? Unless you're Hyacinth Bucket, of course. In which case, it probably fascinates you. But then you have way bigger problems than just the rights and wrongs over washing left out overnight.

Peg it out. Leave it out. Dance naked amongst it whilst howling at the moon. Your neighbours do not care.

Sometimes, I wish I could get so obsessive with all the other chores. For a fortnight or so, till everything is sparkling clean, and then go back to normal.

I've been away for a week, got back to notice DH left a pair of my knickerson the line when he got the washing in before we left. They must be dry by now!!

My washing is out now, and by the BBC Scotland's weather report, should be dry by the morning ready for my next load to go onto the line.

Yes, go for it. so what if your neighbours sneer. Your washing will be dry by morning, theirs will still be in the laundry basket waiting to be pegged out in daytime.
What difference does it make?

I am going on a surprise trip :( unfortunately its got cold here and I can't be arsed taking stuff in tomorrow before we go so I have taken it in! I really want to try this outside at night thing!

I am a total slattern though and use different colours and sizes of pegs willy nilly All over the place.

I'm a little bit washing-obsessed. It's genetically passed on through the female line in my family.

My washing is colour co-ordinated on the line. The pegs I hang the clothes out with must match. I would rather die than put two different coloured pegs on one item of clothing. Adults' underwear is NEVER put on the line, but children's underwear is. Socks are hung up in pairs. You get the picture

I'm the font of all knowledge with regards to laundry etiquette. A veritable guru. However, even I would say that there's nothing wrong with hanging the washing out overnight in dire emergencies! (Or even if you just want to.)

I have to point out that I was in my forties before I realised that the world wouldn't suddenly combust if I did this occasionally.

My mother may be turning in her grave though.

Sorry, shuffle, it's not easier. Wooden ones absorb and transfer any colour leaching from anywhere. You shall require a chart to say what has been used and where.

EBearhug That's so funny. When I still lived at home with my mum and dad, they had different coloured pegs and I always tried to match them with the clothes and never had two different colours of pegs hanging one item. I just have plain wooden ones now so it's a lot easier.
