smells like old ashtrays? Just opening the packet smells horrible. I?m afraid other people will be able to smell them when I wear them so I've switched to a non-deodorized (and non-smelly!) brand.

Here's their contact page. Click on the "email us" tab and let them know your thoughts! Don't forget to say that you've switched to their competitor's products.

They're deodorised?? Hmm. Why???? That'd bring me straight out in a rash.

Yes, yes ScaryFakeNails!

Is that the ad where the girls are crammed into the lift in short skirts and in the foreground there's the lone male who is crouched down with his nose practically in one girl's crotch.

Everyone is grinning away and the implication is that girls are relaxed knowing they have no horrid period odour to worry about whilst man is just smelling something particularly lovely, ie not dirty fanny/pad smell.

This ad makes me very cross.

I truly cannot ever think of a time I have been stuck in a lift with a bunch of women and been able to detect a whiff of period. Or anywhere for that matter. To my knowledge any woman with a modicum of normal hygiene practices does not give off any odour whatsoever.

So fuck off Always with trying to make us feel insecure and selfconscious!

great-ads.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/lil-lets-giggle-and-horny-print-ads.html

These are the ads. It's a new campaign by Lil let.

It just makes me so cross that young women will now be made to feel "not normal" if they don't feel like having an orgasm during their period. It's yet more shit being heeped on them.

I've stopped using them too, they are disgusting. Their sales must be suffering.

It is really insulting too.

Have always avoided buying this kind of thing. Why would we want cheap chemically smells in our knickers.

There was a discussion on the radio this morning about sanpro advertising.

I was so angry to hear that one company is now advertising to young teenagers that masterbating is a good way to relieve period pains.
Yes, they are trying to sexualise the fucking period nowAngry, the MAN who came up with the campaign was very happy that he'd got the word "horny" into an ad campaign.Angry

I'll try and find out which brand it is. so we can all boycott it

WHY do they think we need to change the smell of our vaginas during our periods?

Wtf were they thinking?

Periods arent fun, but theres one thing that bothers me the LEAST about a period is the smell.

Ive never heard someone say "Dont your just hate the smell of your vagina when you're on?"

No one says it because its never been a problem.

Yes it smells different but its not horrific and its FAR more unatural and disgutsing for a womens intimate parts to be smelling of a florist. (Or an ashtray).

How dare they make us feel as though we should be smelling nicer.

And dont even get me STARTED on femfresh!!!

Have you ever seen 'Cock Wash'? NO ME NEITHER!!

Its not just the fact they've changed the product that has irritated me have you seen the ad recently? Saying that this group of 'girls' can party in a tiny space because they're dirty reeking period smell is now hidden?!

It really pisses me off every time I watch it.

Since I've been using a mooncup, and occasionally Kotex pads, it's been a revelation for me that periods DON'T smell.

Has anyone passed on these complaints to Always? I can imagine a group of male managers sat around, scratching their heads and wondering why their sales are plummeting.

I have luckily avoided the scented ones but will buy bodyform next. I don't like this idea that periods smell and we need to hide it with fake fragrances (making it obvious to all around that we are on our period). Bleurgh.

TeaBrick · 24/10/2012 11:18

The irony is, and I've only realised this since I've switched to Kotex (from the pound shop Wink), Always actually make the blood smell horrible, due to their plasticness, I assume. If you use another brand, it just smells of nothing much really Smile

I refuse to buy them. My period doesn't need a signiture perfume, ta very much.
