AIBU?

To post the registrations of all the cars in Blue Badge spaces without a BB at Brockwell Lido this morning?

Every single BB space was full, and no car was displaying a BB. This happens every sunny day. I took photographs of the number plates of every car, and a pic showing how they were parked.

This doesn't affect me personally atm, but has done in the past when DS was a wheelchair user.

Blu, no I'm not saying it's right at all and I would never do it. Interesting that it could be staff.

I have seen staff do it too.

I see this all the time - on Saturday mornings when there are a lot of 5-a-side matches. I've been monitoring it a lot.

I once used a DD space without a BB when my gran fell and needed a wheelchair for a few weeks and I still felt guilty about it.

Hello all

While we at MNHQ completely understand the urge to name and shame people without Blue Badges who park in reserved spaces, we don't think MN is the right place to do this - so we've deleted Blu's post.

I saw a woman park in a disabled space this morning. I was in the one next to her. She ran out of the little tesco and saw me trying to get DS out of car and avoided looking at me and jumped in her car. I kept staring till she looked at me. There was plenty of spaces too she was just lazy

You could always park sideways accross the back of them. I have been known to do this, once at the cinema, I did tell the staff what I'd done and which screen I was in.

Then I looked at the list of films and picked the longest one.

I also did it in a supermarket, they called out my registration and said,
"You are blocking a blue badge space"
me:"No, I'm blocking in the selfish git who is blocking the blue badge space. If that person has ablue badge then I appologise and I will move my car. Otherwise I am going to finish shopping and they can experience 30mins inconvenience."

MNHQ: Guilty as charged, breaking Talk Guidelines...the Fuckit Goblins got the better of me Grin.

Maybe my post was reported by one of the guilty parties? Wink

I had a another look this morning but was speeding past on my bike (in a safe pedestrian friendly manner, natch) and didn't have tiome to take photos - all spaces blocked again - including one of the same cars as yesterday....

Hi Blu - what's the lido like for swimming early in the am? Is it pretty crowded with serious lane swimmers or could a slowcoach like me pootle up and down without annoying everyone? I suppose in this weather it is already filling up with kids at that time? And ... duh duh duh ... what's the water temperature like? Would love to try it out.

If you go there v early (like 7am!) mintyy, you will be fine - I met a super lady who said she swims there every day and she was 80something Shock
It seems to be full by 10am ATM, but maybe when it is raining again next week it will be quieter!

Mintyy, I generally go in at about 8 or 8.30, until about 9.20

They have lane swimming, about 4 lanes including slow, and then at that time in the morning the rest of the pool tends to be 'sedate ladies' swimmimg up and down, which includes me. Then they keep the lanes until about 10 am, I think, but it starts filling up. On v hot days the pool is busy by 9, but still not too busy for sedate swimming.

It opens at about 6.30am, and I like the water in the morning because it has been being filtered all night. Perfectly good temperature, it seems to hold the warmth over night - it's fine atm. Was chilly in May...

It took me twenty minutes to grab a bb space this afternoon. Out of the thirty cars parked in the spaces seven had a badge.
Dd1 has siblings who count.

Entitled twats. Agree on sending it to the paper.

I was also at the Lido (Cafe) today. The pool was really empty around lunchtime, which was really surprising.

It's mad - the day was warm, the water is lovely but the lack of sun keeps people away.

It would be wrong of me to suggest printing lots of A4 bits of paper with

"Ignoring an information sign is not a disability "

and carrying a can of spray mount, and some PVA, and to slap them all over the windscreens of mis parked cars,

that would be bad and wrong,

and jolly good fun to explain to any police officer,

Funnily no one ever wants to go to court when this happens.

someone should start a "SHAME" website, somewhere to upload pictures of cars parked in disabled spaces that don't have badges.
