Because they are fuckers. Angry

Keep changing direct debit date without warning or letter - I have told them writing on paper is what I need. This had led me to charges of £8 twice. Taking DD 2/3 days earlier than agreed date sometimes when bank said it goes after a weekend if the agreed date is a weekend.

AND, they have 'upgraded' my account 2 times, obviously because they get another 18 months and each time with the promise of a new router - not asked for but offered as faster. I have also rung on occasion to see where it is and been told a new one is ordered.

So where is the router?

I have had enough, AIBU to ring them up tomorrow, they are closed now, and tell them they have broken our contract by not sticking to the terms they offered and say I want to pull out of it?

BTW can I do that!!

OOh TalkTalksupport I have been on hold for a million years over the past few days, can you please help me?

We currently pay £6.50 a month for something like Talk Talk Services or similar, what are these? is it 1571?
I will be eternally grateful if you can help and free up my phone and time.

Talk talk cancelled my contract when we were selling our house, our buyers took over the line before we'd even agreed a price on the house!I told talktalk not to let them but they said there was nothing they could do so was left without a phoneline or BB for over a month.I am now in my new house and am with Plusnet,10 quid cheaper a mpnth and no issues so far,all very straightforward.

You aren't BU but as others have said, BT are no better.

My BT horror story: Moved house last summer. Wanted to take number and transfer broadband to new address where the previous owners had Talk Talk. Fatal complication - I was moving into rented for a month in between houses.

Amongst other things they:

Cut off landline for the people whose house I was buying
Failed to install new landline
Mistakenly put my old number back in the pool of not taken numbers
Took two months to reconnect my broadband
New broadband stopped working
Charged me during the time I had no access for broadband usage I couldn't have used as - I had no broadband
Charged me six months later for breaking the contract, despite my having had assurances that this would not happen ( this refunded)

But the worst was the calls -hours and hours and hours of calls being passed from pillar to post, cut off, having to tell teh tale over and over again...

My Talk Talk horror story:

Elderly parents 80 and 96. Don't use mobiles. Entirely reliant on the landline. Reported fault on line - interference. Talk Talk said they'd call back. They never have. Probably because when anyone rings in, the phone goes dead. So now they are isolated with no phone line for enarly a week. I've tried to intervene on their behalf, but after being put on old for 8 mins and 36 seconds, was told tehy couldn't deal with em as I wasn't terh account holder.

Sort that, Mr Talk Talk!

Just cancelled talk talk at the end of our contract after 24months of hellish b/band and phone service. I had transferred to them from Supanet, as TT were apparently better; I couldn't have been more wrong.

Customer service is appalling, from refusing to recognize me as a customer (even though we'd been under contract for over 6mths), to constant spamming with calls, letters and cold callers selling their services to me, even though I already had them. When I contacted TT to ask them to stop, they denied all knowledge, and at one point told me I must be imagining it Shock

As soon as the contract ended, I transferred over to Plusnet, who are fabulous. Since then, I've had three threatening letters from TT about paying for a service which I no longer have, cancelling my direct debit with them, and not paying a final bill (which they haven't sent us).

Talk talk are shite, avoid like the plague.

Hi All and thanks for the warm welcome,

@Notso - As we will need to look at your specific account we will need to confirm some further details with your directly. In the interests of the most effective management of your issue if you could please join the TalkTalk Members Forum. this will ensure we can check all the relevant information and investigate into this issue for you. If you wish you can post a link to your thread here for continued visibility (as anyone can read the TalkTalk members Forum, but you must be an active customer to join as its main purpose is to provide support and assistance to existing customers) to others on Mumsnet.

@ Witchofthenorth - If you would like to elaborate on what you mean. But there is a first for everything :)

@Fluffygal - Im sorry to hear about the problems you experienced during your home move. The only way i could see that this would occur is if the buyers transferred the line to a new supplier giving their details. Can you confirm fi this is the case as the buyer wouldn?t have been able to take over your existing TT service without you completing a change of ownership, which would require your signature (and obviously your knowledge and awareness of the change)

@bearskinwoolies - Im sorry to hear of the difficulties you have experienced. If your account ahs incorrectly billed after you?ve transferred services we will need to look into this. AS the account is still billing you can join the TalkTalk Members Forum using the account number on the bill and we can investigate into this, close the account and process any refunds as applicable.
