If you send someone a PM on here, do you expect a reply? Even just an acknowledgement that you've written them a message? Because I certainly do.

I PMed someone the other day to congratulate them on a good post and not even a "thanks". Rude sausage.

Maybe they just don't like you.

zikes · 11/05/2011 16:43

Maybe they're frightened. Maybe they don't like pms.

Maybe we need a 'like' button on posts. Grin

Report
bupcakesandcunting · 11/05/2011 16:43

Well, I might not particularly like them. But if someone said "nice blouse" to you in a shop, you'd go "thanks!" wouldn't you?

Yes. They should.

although.

Someone pm'ed me the other day and I deleted it and then realised I hadn't actually replied Blush and I couldn't for the life of me remember their username.

So no doubt they now think I'm an ignorant cow.

So perhaps something like that happened with yours too.

Dunno, never had a PM Sad but yeah, would have thought it would be good manners to reply.

You PMd someone to say they wrote a good post? Are you sure?

Report
usualsuspect · 11/05/2011 16:45

Its only a PM ..no big deal

Report
AMumInScotland · 11/05/2011 16:46

Why on earth would you PM someone to say "good post"? Couldn't you just have joined in with the thread if that's all you wanted to say to them? Personally, I'd have wondered why you wanted to PM me something like that. I also wouldn't have thought it needed an answer.

Report
bupcakesandcunting · 11/05/2011 16:46

Yes, I wrote a PM saying "good thread" etc etc. People have done this to me before and I have at least said "aw cheers"

But then I am not a RUDE SHIT

What the fuck is the matter with you now?

Can you smell burnt toast?

Report
Pinkjenny · 11/05/2011 16:47

I didn't want to start my own thread, for fear of just being told to 'go elsewhere if you don't like it', so I'm going to jump on your bandwagon.

I do not understand why every goddamned thread on here seems to be turning into an argument atm. What is wrong with people? And I have been here 5 years, so it's not like I'm a newbie.

Idiots. Bloody idiots.

Not that I often get PMs but it isn't always obvious that you have one if you're MNing from a shit phone like the one I've been using recently

ggirl · 11/05/2011 16:48

It took me about a month to realise I had an inbox Blush... could they be online but just not have checked their inbox?

It's an interesting one... I PMed someone to thank them for their good advice on one of my threads and I didn't need a response (or get one). But the other day in RL I gave someone a very useful contact that they asked for, plus followed them on twitter (as they asked) and they never bothered to thank me or follow back. I'm still ridiculously cross about that . He was old enough to know better too.

zikes · 11/05/2011 16:49

Maybe the poster should have given you a bottle of wine and a thank you card. Hmm
