Aldi's pates are df too.

Anyone have a good bread sauce recipe?

I use Oatly cream for all my sauces both savoury and sweet and for pouring over anything. Oatly Barrista Milk for foamy hot drinks. Coconut vanilla yoghurt is nice in place of yoghurt. Oatly fromage frais is good as an accompaniement to tart puddings.

Oh and not sure if I’ve mentioned Lidl’s spiced biscuit spread. God it’s lovely.

I shall answer my own question
Asda pork and mushroom pate is dairy free.

AND it has marzipan on it, others I've seen/tried such as Tesco omit the marzipan which for me is vital on Christmas cake.

Yes the Costa vegan Christmas cake slice is definitely DF. I may have already consumed a few and I can report no hospitalisation ( results of me ingesting dairy) Xmas Wink

I’m GF. But my trip to Morrison’s in the city today proved worthwhile!

Pretty sure my freefrom cake and Christmas cake are DF too.

The lidl mince pies are dairy free and they are delicious!

Could any of you suggest a dairy free pate? Or is pate always going to be dairy-Licious by nature? I wanted to do pate, bread, and salad for my starter on Xmas day but every one I look at has cream/dairy in it.

Think we need a tester for the Adsa Yule Log? Is anyone willing to step forward? Xmas Smile

Don’t know if we’ve already mentioned the Asda Mince Pies but their 89p ones are DF! Full of crap mind...

Thenewaverage. vegan should mean DF & EF but I can’t find the product, or its allergy information online. Has anyone seen the ingredients for themselves?

Molly
I think it depends on the store. I had to pop to another (similar size) Tesco today and they didn’t have it.

I looked for the Yule log in Tesco today but didn't find it.

Noticed today that Costa have a vegan Christmas cake slice in their stores- does this mean dairy free? I am guessing yes, and also egg free?

I took one for the team and opened the Tesco Yule log. It’s not bad but it’s rather dry. So not a full thumbs up from me.
Sadly won’t be able to compare it to the Asda one just yet. It’s just DH and me eating them atm and we’re going away before Christmas so we won’t eat them both before we go. I’ll save the Asda one for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Bit of a risk but needs must!

And is there anything I should look out for that you wouldn’t expect to have milk in it but it does? unfortunately everything. I’d check the labels on everything you eat and keep checking because occasionally they change the recipes and it isn’t always obvious.

Name I’ve so overwhelmed that you are prepared to go to such lengths to help us. Have we got any results yet? Smile
