To the neighbour who just stole my Deliveroo...

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you're looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money (because it all went on the burger)... but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my Deliveroo go now, that will be the end of it - I will not look for you, I will not pursue you... but if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you... and I will kill let everyone know that you're a thieving arsehole.

P.S. I watched you accept the order but couldn't approach you because I'm shielding and was waiting for you to simply point the driver in the right direction. I know who you are. WHO DOES THAT!?!?!! YOU PSYCHOPATH.

P.P.S. I tried to flag down the delivery man AND called his number but it wasn't a real one. Just in case anyone asks. (Nobody will ask).

Yes, this does deserve it's own thread. I JUST WANTED A FUCKING BURGER AND NOW EVERYWHERE ELSE IS CLOSED.

P.P.P.S. I reaaaaally hope you're on Mumsnet, burger thief. I hope the guilt made it taste vile.

If it was possible, I'd send them Liam Neeson's memes everyday. You could even make one about the actual situation. I don't know why you did it but I will find you and feed you rotten burgers everyday

Leave them a note using cut out letters and/or words from newspapers and magazines saying.."I know what you did and I'm watching you!"

It was 7Bone?

I can’t blame them then, to be honest 😬

Just kidding. Bastards.

*over rated old bag Prue Leith won't be getting another penny of my money, that's for sure

Blue cheese? Yuk. Evil found evil.

I had a Yodel driver steal my Pasta Evangelists order last week. Neither company has done fuck all about it, £15 down the drain. Wouldn't mind, but I didn't want the fucking delivery in the first place, but forgot to cancel in time.

That old bag Prue Leith won't be getting another penny of money, that's for sure.

Why didn’t you video on phone and call police?

"Police, what's your emergency?"
someone... Stole... My..."
"Someone stole your what?"
"BURRRRGEEEERRRRRR!! SEND HELPPP!"

Actually that is astonishingly rude if they could see the address but just kept it, you obviously ordered as you were hungry.

I would say something (from a distance...!) next time you see them. If you're friends with any of the other neighbours tell them! Name and shame.

I would put a very scary note through your neighbours door There is nothing like drip drip drip psychological pressure.

We order from Deliveroo about once a month. You can follow the driver on the app and you get a message telling you when he is near. My nephew goes out to the gate with his phone to guide the rider in case he cant find it - and also to make sure the dishonest neighbour next door does not nick it.

do they have a car?

get some fish or prawns out of the freezer and drop them down the vent by the windscreen, get some vaseline, if you have any and smear in all over the door handles.

Thank you all for the supportive messages, whoever said that laughter is the best medicine was definitely onto something, I've spent the last few hours snorting at all the violent helpful suggestions and am seriously debating sneaking out later to write "BURGER THIEF" in chalk outside the culprit's house Grin

I probably should have added that Deliveroo were actually really good about it and I've already been refunded the money, but my main gripe is with the thieving bastard who stole my lovely burger (intentional or not). I'm also greedy enough to know that your address is always included on the receipt stapled to the bag, so it would have been quite easy for said thieving bastard to come and let me know what had happened. Also, I did get a notification saying the food had been delivered!

P.S. It was the blue cheese burger from 7bone... make of that what you will.

I understand you're shielding, but could you not pop on a mask and go and give them a socially distanced thrashing with a fucking broom? Grin

Seriously?! You can still shield but call out to a delivery driver! If this really happened I think you let it happen to be honest.

Knock on the door and say "I really should be here, cough, cough, I am in isolation waiting for my deliveroo and noticed it was delivered to you, cough, cough"

Clearly I order more often from Deliveroo than people on this thread because I know the OP would have got a motivation just before saying it was about to be delivered. That’s how she knows it was here.

Just put a note through the door asking what happened and leave your phone number

@BlackeyedSusan

sneak out in the middle of the night and write burger thief in chalk on the pavement outside their house. or leave a big fuck off burger thief poster under their windscreen wipers.

🤣 how funny would it be if op order was just accidentally forgotten and she did this to her neighbour who innocently ate their own takeaway

hamishpottery · 16/01/2021 23:20

Something similar happened to me and I found it really quite upsetting! Particularly in the times we are in.

I would honestly phone Deliveroo and say that you didn't receive you meal, and get a refund or another delivered.

Report
Fiftyandmore · 16/01/2021 23:19

It won't be long though before the police track the burger and the burger thieves though - they'll be doing door-to-door soon.
