Hi @TheHoneyBadger - to be fair, you didn't make the student cry, her friend did lol.

Oh I let her sit with the idea of having no phone for a week though!

And we are off .......

Go to the pub - we would be so lucky as the head has banned staff trips to the pub

Yay thanks staff. Your head is insane. My community would have way more respect for the school if they actually saw the teachers in the pub or the shops. I'm one of the only ones who live locally and the school feels like some alien fenced in ivory tower to the locals because the teachers don't exist in the community itms.

What a cute little threadlet! When I saw the title I didn't understand it at first but clicked on it as I knew it was going to be one of the gang!

@AllDoneIn the discussion moved when the next Republic thread was created, so don't get locked in the broom cupboard!

Every science department I've ever been in has had a secondary staff room in a broom closet. I feel quite at home here.

Yup @Appuskidu

Just had results of DS's test from care home- negative, thank God. Just got to hope everyone else is there.

God, is that the smell of the sprinkly sick sand?

Oh @CallmeAngelina you've just reminded me why I don't work in primary any more... 🤢

Copied from the thread on Secondary minimising cases:

This goes against what the DfE tell the school to do though, which is to only isolate close contacts at secondary school unless there are several outbreaks within one year group. Because the DfE apparently knows that the virus can only spread to those sitting within 2m of you in a classroom. DH's head closed a year group against the advice of the DfE and received a written reprimand from them.

Just seen on the Independent on Twitter that Raab isn’t ruling out a Tier 4. But schools and journeys to work would still continue as normal.

Blimey that went fast! Evening everyone! Had a fairly easy day today in terms of lessons... found out that a neighbours school has 40plus staff SI before half term in tier 1! I've been wearing a mask everywhere since September so made me happy to see everyone else in a mask now (tier 2).

I have a milk lake due to ordering ineptitude, so help yourselves to rice pudding. There's golden syrup by the paper cutter.
