The litter tray

I think my baby is poorly :(

Dcat seems to be acting really strange. She’s normally very vocal and so far nothing today. She’s not ate or drank, she’s not touched her treats and she keeps hiding under the bed/table. Which she never does. She normally sleeps on the sofa or beds.

She isn’t purring when we stroke her and seems abit dazed.

She has an appointment at the vets this afternoon. I don’t drive and have Noway of getting her there until my dp gets home.

I feel so sad for her. She seems depressed.

Any ideas what it could be?

Dd4 stood on her tail yesterday morning but she just yelped and ran, I don’t think it hurt her ? Iv felt her tail and she’s waging it still. She was fine after it.

She’s due in the vets at 2.45. Really worried it’s going to cost a lot 😩

It certainly sounds like she could be poorly and possibly in pain, hence her hiding away. It could be so many things so you are definitely doing the right thing in taking her to the vet. As for it being expensive well that's always a possibility unfortunately. Do you have insurance?

Do update after you have seen the vet and fingers crossed it's nothing too serious.

Could be anything but my cat always hid and acted weird when he had an abscess which you couldn't see immediately.

The vet has rang.

She has a very nasty infection and they aren’t sure where it’s from. She has to go to the 24/7 hospital that’s quite far away 😩

So sorry to hear that but she will get the best care I am sure and if they had let her come home for the night and they asked you to bring her back tomorrow you would be sooo stressed. I've been there! Hopefully once she has got some antibiotics in her she will start to feel better and they can get to the bottom of where the infection is.

So sorry OP. The good news is that you got her in to the vets and now she’s being treated. 💐

Poor love. That bandage clashes with her fur too. Ill and mis-matched.

They think she might have an auto immune disorder? No idea what that is but she’s having lots more tests x

That's exactly how Magic behaved when she had pancreatitis. She was still in the same place when I came back from work 14 hours later. I then realised she'd not eaten or drank. She was critically ill. But made a full recovery. Hope yours does too OP.

Her temperature wouldn't come down either. She was moved from the emergency vet to a hospital and they gave her another antipyretic straight away and she was loads better when she was cooler. She had morphine and ketamine and was absolutely stoned!

Thank you!

Not heard anything yet so rang and they said they tried to take bloods but she was fighting them off so they need to wait for the vet to come out of surgery to do it. Hopefully that’s a good sign.

We just have no idea where she could have got an infection from.

They said her urine etc seem ok. Her temp was 41, and even after 3 hours it was the same.

I feel so lost without her

Really hope your little one is on the up soon. Cats really are such an important part of the family and my heart goes out to you. Just know she’s in the best place and the vets are very skilled at making animals better. Keep us posted, sending healing wishes.
