Just wanted to recommend this, I believe it starts some time this week in the UK. We're about 8 episodes in and it's very funny, dark and a bit surreal.

I can't wait to see it, it looks great! Is it similar to SATC?

Not really - it's more in a soap style (thinking Dallas rather than Corrie) but madder. A bit Twins Peaks, but more fun. Plus some very gorgeous men which never hurts.
There's one utterly knackered housewife with childrn from hell whom I identify with strongly and one loony Stepford sort who seems like all the women who live around me here in the New Jersey suburbs.

I've seen a lot of previews for this in magazines and the papers and it looks like it is going to be BIG. See that it has Teri Hatcher and Nicolette Sheridan (Paige from Knot's Landing!) so looks quite glamourous!

Sounds good. It starts on wed night may have to record it though as it starts at 10pm and it's on for an hour. Don't know if I can last that long!!!
Have to say I am very jealous, I would love to move over there! Are you british?

It's a massive hit over here, quite surprisingly as it's not at all "al-american" IYKWIM.
Yes Newbarnsleygirlwalliams I am british, been out here about 15 months now. I must say, this is the first show that comes close to filling that SATC gap (though I love Scrubs - do you get that in the UK?)

I love Scrubs, Turquoise.

I enjoyed the first few episodes of Desperate Housewives, but it's starting to get a bit silly and annoying for me. It reminds me a bit of Ally McBeal in that I enjoyed it at first because it was different, but after a while it was too silly.

Having said that, DH is a huge hit and a lot of people love it. Definitely worth watching anyway.

(Turquoise, have you ever watched Ed? The opening credits are filmed in Westfield and they drive past my old apartment!)

Yeah we get scrubs or should I say we did. It hasn't been on for ages though. They put the repeats on sky sometimes. I still really miss SATC. Which reminds me I must go and buy the last one! I don't suppose you have heard anything about the SATC film? Are they making it or not?

No - I haven't seen Lost or Ed (thought Ed had finished?) - I still haven't quite got the hang of all the channels and the way you can be halfway through a series then it suddenly goes back to the beginning!
I just loved the bit in the last episode of DH I saw, where the shots of the dominatrix were cut to the happy family photos and "bless our happy home" knick-knacks, as the husband screamed while she strutted up and down his back in her stillettos! On prime time american tv!
I used to love Ally Mcbeal but in the last series the only redeeming factor was Jon Bon Jovi.

Last I heard the SATC film was a no go because of v bad feeling between Kim Cattrall and the others.

Hmm, I must have missed that episode!

I still get annoyed and confused with the way they don't just show an entire series from beginning to end, and I've been here over 10 years!

Thats a shame. Is there any other new stuff coming on? Whatever's a hit in America, Channel 4 seem to put on over here almost straight away!

What channel was Ed on Kate? I've seen the star of it on various talk shows and he seems very amusing - would like to catch the repeats if they do them.
Newbarnsleygirl - I can't think of much else that's great, we seem to be swamped with Survivor and Bachelor shows. Have you had the teen-type one with Kelly Osbourne? That's about the only one I can think of thats a hit other than the OC (which doesn't thrill me much either).
Evian is House the one with Hugh Laurie? I keep meaning to watch it if so.

I think Ed was NBC. I don't know if any channels are showing repeats. To be honest, I never watched the show itself!

I haven't seen any of LOST: the previews looked pretty silly to me. But SIL (who loves Desperate Housewives, Ally McBeal, the OC, Melrose Place etc.) enjoys it.
