My Curly Hair Went Straight After Pregnancy

I'm really not happy about it. I had my DS in May last year. Soon after he was born my curls just dropped out and now I have slightly wavy, almost straight hair. Whilst I was pregnant my hair was falling out and this drastically increased once I'd had him but subsided after a few months.
Has anyone else lost their curls after having their baby? Did they come back? My hairdresser's told me my hair should recover after 18 months. That gives me until November. To be honest I can't see any improvement at all.

My friend had corkscrew curls which always disappeared when she was pg. They did come back, but not the same as they were before children. My formerly wavy hair turned bone straight after I had ds. I can sometimes get a bit of wave back in if it's cut right and I dry it properly, but otherwise, it's pretty much straight as a die.

Mine too. It was awful. It has recovered now though, I think it took about 18 months, perhaps a little longer. Wierd isn't it

Me too, and no, my curls never did come back. To be honest though, I've noticed a progressive straightening throughout my 30s which got more rapid during pregnancy, so maybe it was going to happen anyway?

Sigh, and to think I used to dislike my big, bouncy curls, it must be karma coming back to bite me on the bum. Anything would be better than this no man's land of slightly wavy-sticking-out-in-the-wrong-directions.

It's such a pain, especially when your dh finds it so attractive! And what if it does come back after 18 months and then drops out again with another pregnancy!! Arrggh.
I miss it so much

Same as Brangelina. I miss my proper curls. I especially hate it when I wake up in the morning and it's just a frizzy, flattish mess.

I've had the opposite, my normally quite straight hair went really curly at the back, and is still mega curly now, although it is starting to calm down.

I haven't noticed a change since pregnancy but I had poker straight hair up until I hit puberty and then it went berserk and curly.

I wish it were straight - I hate the frizz.

I have lots of naturally curly hair lost tons after DS really thought I was going to lose the lot none of my usual hair products seemed to work any more- and it went limp and straight- took until he was about 18/months to thicken up again - I can follow progress via family photos- got curly again by the time he was about three- but hate to tell you -this my hairdresser who lived through all this drama with me says only now is my hair back to it's former glory-DS is 6 and I am now going rapidly grey-.I would suggest an iron supplment and probaly talking to your hairdresser they will reassure you it's really common and seems to be a big problem for us curlies-
