so, is this dress cool and relaxed in a funky sixties kind of way, or is it a sack?

Am v drawn to it but still not sure!

Hassled Wed 15-Jul-09 13:22:31

I'd go for cool and relaxed in a retro sort of way. I like it. You couldn't wear it and have a bit of tum on you, though.

I like it, but am not sure of the ruching, bustle thing on the back though.

Fimbo Wed 15-Jul-09 13:24:11

Oh no like. Looks like something from Primark.

fishie Wed 15-Jul-09 13:24:36

i can see why you like it but it is indeedy a sack. and unless you are 6' tall it would be a mid calf sack too.

nice from the back

the front is sack-like and you'd need to be tall and slim to carry of any semblance of style I think

pagwatch Wed 15-Jul-09 13:25:57

the idea is good but the fabric for the metallic bit is dreadful and looks really cheap. It is also cut really badly and hangs really badly, even on a model. If that is the best photo they could manage it is going to be even worse in RL .
Therefore = sack.

whyOwhy Wed 15-Jul-09 13:27:20

Ah no, have tried it on (in another colour), and it hits the knee perfectly. Ruching thing barely visible, just gives a tiny bit of waist at the back. Tum not really an issue, just not sure about the whole effect! You lot aren't helping, can't you all decide one thing and stick to it?

whyOwhy Wed 15-Jul-09 13:28:39

OK, cross posted, more sacks than likes by now - that helps!

missmelly Wed 15-Jul-09 18:20:37

another vote for sack here.. i dont think that would be very flattering on anyone

VinoEsmeralda Wed 15-Jul-09 18:22:25

sack here too

ButterbeerAndLemon Wed 15-Jul-09 18:22:50

On Kate Moss it would be the cool retro one. On me it would be a sack.

ButterbeerAndLemon Wed 15-Jul-09 18:23:13

and an unflattering sack, at that.

ToutFucker Wed 15-Jul-09 18:24:58

doesn't hang right, looks cheap and nasty

only Alexa Chung could get away with that, worn with pixie ankle boots, a choppy fringe and lots of kohl eyeliner

not for me, with my easy short hair, Birkies and 40 yr old vibe sad

flier Wed 15-Jul-09 18:25:43

sorry but i think it looks very cheap and nasty

My immediate thought was sack. It looks like something I have rustled up on the sewing machine and for someone who can barely sew a button on that is not good.

squeaver Wed 15-Jul-09 18:28:56

Sack and, really, does anyone think those shoes look good with it (or indeed anything)?

I hate glads.

Lulubee Wed 15-Jul-09 19:18:49

A sacky sack from sackville. Kate and Alexa would look good in it but that's because they're models grin

Greensleeves Wed 15-Jul-09 19:19:39

It is a sack even a potato would object to

put it from your mind

Clure Wed 15-Jul-09 19:39:25

yes a bit sack like - not enough structure, needs a few "darts" to give it some shape!

HollyBunda Wed 15-Jul-09 19:42:24

that is a sack and needs ironing!

HuffwardlyRouge Wed 15-Jul-09 19:43:51

Oh good lord that is a terrible dress.
