Hi all

my neck is beginning to look a bit stringy these days - i am 42. can anyone please recommend a good moisturiser

i bought the Boots protect and perfect and i liked it, but i used it all up in 3 weeks. am not flush with money so have gone back to Oil of Olay

I'm seriously thinking of splashing out on this

Will need to cut back on spending somewhere else to afford it though.

Necks need a really good body moisturiser - anything that works on dry legs will work on dry necks, IME.

themoon - how much???? it looks a bit gimmicky to me, i am really cynical about creams that promise too much..howver i can see me heading down that road in the coming years, trying lots of 'miracle creams'

let me know how you get on anyway

bonsoiranna - i use vaseline cocoa butter on my legs, dya think that will work? its worth a try.

Clarins do an extra firming neck cream- not sure if it works but might do!

I am currently using Boots P&P and hoping for some results!

Other than that, Lancome and Estee Lauder do good stuff for older skins. (You won't get much change from £40 though.)

In "Don't go to the Cosmetics Counter without me" by Paula Begoun - huge tome, and not cheap, so well-thumbed in the bookshops I've see it in, she says there is no reason at all to support separate creams/moisturisers for differently-aged skins. Just the desire to make money.

She DOES say that much older ladies should go easy on the exfoliating.

I am currently using my usual Clinique moisturiser with SPF 25, and Boots P&P. I think you might get more "lift" and tightnesss with some creams, but it won't last once you stop using them.

Biggest bit of advice- use SPF and moistursers on your neck NOW- don't wait til you are a crone and have a turkey neck and a smooth face.
(from one who knows!)

You could try a neck oil ( can be used on your face too).. You mix frankinscense and rose essential oils in with sweet almond oil and apply at night. Both these oils are reputed to be excellent on aging skin.

thanks for all the advice

PMSL howtotellmum, from one turkey necked crone to another i am already headed that way!! is it the Dramatically Different you use? i have used it on and off but it doesnt work as well as the Boots P&P on me

i will buy some more of the Boots P&P because i really liked it, just shocked how quick it all went!

echt - i did ask at the Clinique counter and she said the same, they dont recommend a different cream for your neck, just whatever you put on your face

earthpixie, i like the idea of the natural oils, and i bet it smells lovely. i have made a note and may give that a go as a night cream

i cd use the natural oils at night then the P&P for dayime

i will see how that goes! thank you all again
