Where to buy size 9 shoes?

Not for me - but for my mum.

We have traipsed around the shops all day and couldn't find a single place that went up to size 9 (she always complained about this but I didn't believe her)

Does anyone know where to buy feminine size 9 shoes - must be flat (or tiny heel) as she is tall and conscious about her height.

Have tried LTS & The Shoe Tailor but can't find anywhere else.

clarks make them but only stock them in a small number of their stores. go in to a large store and ask if any of the sizes you like are made in a 9, its unlikely that they will have them instore but if you phone their h/o they will send them to the store for you.
i think evans also do size 9

Hobbs do some of their styles in a 42, which is generally the equivalent of a UK size 9 (although some people call it 8, confusingly). You get to know which makes come up big/small.

Camper also do 42. I can highly recommend their online e-shop -- v. quick delivery. Stock in the shops is a bit hit and miss.

Boden do a 42 as well, if you like their stuff.

Kurt Geiger is where my mum gets hers (she has UK size 10 I think, ie. 44, eek) but v. v. expensive. If you live in an area with large African population (like parts of London) you may find a wider choice, as there seem to be loads of Nigerian women with bigger feet and a serious glam shoe habit, so shops in those areas may be more geared up for it.

Duo are good for boots. Your mum needs to learn to look online, really -- trailing round the shops on the off-chance is pretty dispiriting.

I know (from bitter experience... loads of the high street also off limits here) these all do 42(8 and a half) and I think higher

I've found boden 42 to be on the small side (or maybe just too narrow)

hobbs 42 come up big so are good.
next go up to a nine and their 8's are usually generous too.
evans-but very wide.

I have had the same experience with my dainty footed size 5 skinny sister, who didn't believe me that it might take me all day not to buy any shoes.

I have always found that the 42 at Hobbs, Boden and Camper is very small, and doesn't even fit my size 8 feet. But my feet are wide as well as long.

Next - some styles up to 9.
M&S - Sizes come up big and I always need to go down a size, so your mum might be OK with their 8.
Barrats
Some big branches of New Look.
Evans
K Shoes and Clarks
Hush Puppies and DM ladies fashion range also vey big for their size.

It's a pita actually, as shoe manufacturers are getting better with larger sizes, but they seem to assume that if you have long feet, they are extra wide too.

the really crap thing is that once the range goes above a 7 then its all very arbitrary (even in the same shop) - an 8 in one style wont fit me but then it will in another, but then I have pretty wide feet too)

being pregnant was f**cking hilarious had to get shoes stretched at cobblers. once went for a pedicure, all the warm water and massage actually caused my feet to get even bigger so couldnt get my open toed mules back on! had to drive home bare foot.

I love aldo, they do the odd one in a nine.

Eco shoes fit my large and uber wide feet. I had to laugh at the Nigerian ladies comment. I've lived in Brixton, Hackney and Harlsden and have always found shoe shopping there less stressful.

This is the bane of my life. A size 42 is an 8. A 43 is a 9. I was a size 8 until I had dd, now I veer towards a nine, and it really hacks me off that people advertise shoes online as a nine, and when you get them they are a 42. Grrr....

Next shoes are sized properly and go up to an actual nine, as are Evans, although they are really wide. Viva La Diva's size 8s are 41's. No use to man nor beast. I wish they would just standardise these things...

Yep, agree. I've been a proper size 9 (43) since a teen and the only places I've been able to buy shoes in the UK are Next (the nicest by far) but recently I've found that the larger sizes aren't available in-store, only in the directory, Lilley and Skinner - not v.nice but high street (not sure if they are still around) and Evans, but only for very wide feet.

There are some online shoe stores for big feet but they always seem to be very expensive.

Oh, and of course Ebay if you are prepared to wade through the transvestite offerings

I'm an 8 and often find that Asda George are on the big side.
I got a size 9 in Shoe Express or Shoe Fayre(one of those)a few years ago if that helps at all...

Oh yes - I was chatting to the assistant in Shoe fayre about sizes, and she said they do do them but only get a few which sell out immediately..... Not her fault I know, but it's daft that if they sell out so quickly no ones realised that there's a market for them and offers more

I saw some size nines in Primark today tried them on (I'm a proper size nine too, a 43) and they fitted! I nearly tripped over my huge feet getting to the check out to buy some cheap tat shoes in my size that I haven't had to pay oves the odds for! All you size nines will know the jealously of not being able to buy cheap shoes that are only going to last one night out like all you normal sized feet ladies.

I've passed on all your suggestions to my mum. She's just ordered a couple of pairs from Viva la Diva so hope she doesn't find them too small..

Was in Primark too yesterday Shoegazer! Never thought to look at the shoes. Mum ended up traipsing round the shopping centre without her shoes as the ones she was wearing were so painful.
