Do you have short hair and wear earrings?

If so, what styles?

I've worn my hair in a crop for years but fairly recently got it done edgier and shorter. I'm now trying to figure out what, if any, earrings go with it. I've been experimenting with hoops and I think I've figured out that I need to go big or go home. I see lots of women in the media wearing cool earrings with very short or no hair, but some of them don't quite seem to work on me.

My work mate does- she has a full collection of chandelier type earrings, some glitzy, some a bit more sedate. All of them are amazing.

This is me with said big hoops, btw.

I have some perspex and acrylic earrings I really love from Toolally and I'm trying to figure out if I can still wear them.

Never mind the earrings can you at least share a few of your skincare secrets?? And please, for the love of God, don't say "I just use water and a baby wipe" Botox?

Looks lush.
I went cropped last year and I still have to steel myself to wear BIG earrings. But I do (sometimes) Grin

Yes to skincare- you look amazing!!

You can definitely go acrylic and go bigger than those hoops.

I've just re-read my reply and apologies if it sounded a bit twatty. I think you look fab. Skin. Hair. Earrings. Lippy. Everything. Bloody lovely.

Big is best in my book. I reckon you can also get away with smaller/studs too, but a bit edgy/interesting...

Ha! You are too kind Grin

I do not have Botox and I do use more than water and a baby wipe. I don't have a massive routine though. Cream cleanser at night, and I alternate between a firming moisturiser and a serum. Use Pixi Glow Tonic occasionally, not very often as it's pricey. I wear very little on my skin during the day, this pic is Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow plus a little under eye concealer, but usually it's Glossier Futuredew or a little Perfecting Skin Tint. I am turning into a Glossier addict.

I don't always spike my hair up or wear lippy but I felt like having some fun today.

I can relate to this. I have short hair, but feel silly somehow if I wear anything other than studs. I do however think you and other people with short hair look fabulous with your big earrings. I should try it.

Oh my god now I can't stop looking at your smooth forehead!! Thanks for sharing your secrets. Tiny bit pissed off that it's not that far off "water and a baby wipe" Grin

Ooh, the dangle chains are interesting, because I absolutely LOVE all of Lupita Nyong'o's jewellery in this scene from Black Panther (seriously, where can I get those necklaces, I want them bad), but I wouldn't have thought to try it. Just one dangle chain for an asymmetric look?

I usually wear studs or small drops for daytime, but long for going out. I'm always too worried about catching big hoops, so I've steered clear. They look great on you though!

@PlasticSmileyCat I tried experimenting with smaller hoops and it just looked a bit half arsed - I think sometimes you do have to make a statement to balance it out. I got these skinny hoops at H&M, might be worth a try? You can post a pic Grin Skinny hoops are definitely in as well, I don't want to end up looking like Toni Collette in About a Boy. I adore Toni Collette, but no.

Wow, some of the ear climbers are certainly statement-y.

My hair is longer than usual atm due to lock downs and a year of growth but I go with "interesting" earring. So zips today but I also have avocados, animals, fruit and a billion others. I do wear dangly ones too. Usually the brighter or quirkier the better. I'm not stylish though!

Have you just got one hole in each ear OP? I think a couple more lobe piercings and a cartilage piercing or two could look amazing.

I love your hair! You look amazing.
I think Perspex earrings are the one, I find the metal hoops quite heavy and make my ears sore.
Tkmaxx often have great (reduced!) ones in!

bunglebee · 12/05/2021 11:28

@UggerlyMummy I used to have three in each lobe and also the top done, but that was many years ago and the third lobe piercing and the top one have closed over. I'm probably happy to keep it to two lobe piercings for now.

P.s. you look great in the giant, thin hoops in the pic

These are some of my favourite Toolally earrings, for e.g..

I guess I should just go and put one on and take another pic...

I think short hair and big earrings look great
