Please help me, DD has become self conscious about her bralettes showing through her white school shirts.

So I am now tasked with finding the holy grail which is white short sleeved shirts/blouses that aren't see through.

To help me in my quest she quite a small 6-8 often woman's clothes still swamp her a bit although she fits river island & Primark.

If anyone has seen any plain white bralettes as well with no lace on, that don't brake the bank and come in a size 6-8. I will love you forever i exaggerate but seriously I spent ages hunting online shops for her.

Get her flesh coloured bras, not white.

There are no white shirts where a bra will not show through unless you wear a vest underneath but a white bra will always show under a white shirt.

Thank you.
I've suggested that and actually got her to try it but she still insists that it looks bad.

She is nearly 14 and at that stage of being uncomfortable particularly I think that she's got breasts now, the teenage years are so difficult I'm sure soon she'll be wanting to do the opposite!

Add a middle layer, a simple tank or spaghetti strap top

Thank floofy that may have been my slightly exasperated suggestion to her apparently that is to hot!

Honestly you can see why in desperation I turned to MN! Also I don't want her to feel self conscious or uncomfortable and I know at this age how awful you can feel.

Thanks Dunning I'll check them out.

Sorry all I should have said the shirts are for school so need to be shirts or blouses.

I've just realised something which will actually explain why she's so desperate not to show any sign of her bra, her friends have been regularly targeted by a gang of boys who sexually harass them. At the moment a group of them are going to go to the teachers again and complain if that doesn't stop it I'm going to get involved.

I bet you that contributing to her worries about this Angry

Get involved and stop the appalling behaviour.

Buy men's shirts or t shirts - clothing for women is always poor quality and over priced as women are deemed stupid.

Wear a vest over the bra. That’s what I did at school

M&S do a cooling vest vest
Nude/skin coloured is definitely needed.

I recommend Banner school blouses. My DD has the revere collar ones as uniform but they do formal collar to support a tie too.
They aren't the cheapest but they don't need ironing, are slightly fitted so look really smart, and are much less see through than other blouses.

Thanks for the suggestions, yes I will be getting involved with the school, she's asked me to wait until after they have complained and at this age you have to play a balancing act of allowing them to make decisions rather than stepping in.

Particularly when they've trusted you with a problem.

Off topic but that is happening to the world of teenage boys , this is the 2nd thread I’ve read in 10 minutes about the shocking behaviour of teenage boys atm (the train thread) , it’s appalling . I fear for the lives our girls are going to have in relationships with these lads as they get older ! How has society changed so much in a generation . It’s scary :(
