Lip filler lumps! Is this normal? (Pic)

I had 0.5ml juverderm in my top lip on Friday. One side is nice and plump but the other side is just lumpy.

Will this even out?

Were you advised to massage your lips? sometimes if you get lumps with fillers that is what they advise
I have never had lip fillers ,but that is what I have been told
Have you seen the lip filler thread, someone had lip fillers and they are very smooth, but maybe didn't have the whole lips done just the edges

She did say to gently massage for 3 seconds each time so I've been doing that but I'm still bumpy as hell!

I don't think that looks right, no. I have some little lumps sometimes but can only feel them with my tongue, they're not visible. And I usually have 1ml. I'd go back to the woman that did them. Was she a qualified HCP?

Have you had it done before? Could you be allergic to the filler. i would ring/ go back first thing tomorrow.

No, I have had lip fillers various times (juvederm) and the ‘lumps’ are ones that you can feel rather than see, typically at injection sites; they go away after about 14 days.

I usually have 1.5ml but have never experienced that. My lips generally swell for the first few days, but not in a single small area like yours. I do think it’s worth booking an appointment ASAP to get them to either dissolve the filler in that area or even both sides up - either way they need to take a look at it and make sure you haven’t had a bad reaction

Do you normally get cold sores ? I've had fillers and was told to tell them if I did as they give u meds - if u do tend to get them it may be linked ? Hope they settle .

Also my nurse always says to come back in either a week or two weeks can't remember so she can have a look at them and even them out if needed, free of charge. I never bother as they're always fine. Did your nurse offer the same maybe?

I did have some unevenness after lip fillers but not like yours. I would either go back to the practitioner who did it or email them the photo and ask for advice.

No that's not normal. Generally lumps that will massage away are tiny ones that you may be able to feel but can't see. You shouldn't be able to see a big lump on one side of your lip.

You are supposed to massage them but it should be relatively smooth

I emailed with a phot today and she said it's normal and to massage it gently but if no better after 2 weeks then to go back.
In the meantime I look like an idiot!

To answer Q's - I never have cold sores. I did have filler done once before and something similar happened on the same side which I thought odd so I choose a different nurse to do it this time with a different type of filler

If the practitioner thinks the unevenness is due to swelling this will be resolved after 7 days.
If they are saying to wait 14 days I would book the hylase (dissolving) now, 14 days from treatment date, then it’s in place now.
This is why you need a nurse prescriber even though dermal filler is not a prescription only medicine, the hylase is only available with prescription.

Anyone who does these fillers and botox etc, should also be a prescriber
It shouldn't cost you anything to get the Hyalase,if the filler has been put in wrongly
If the person who did the filler isn't a prescriber it could take weeks or longer to get the filler dissolved

I had fillers 3 years ago [not lips] which was a mess, the wrong filler was used,it took from December until March for a presciber to come and dissolve it,
Hope it sorts itself out, on its own though

No decent practitioner would tell you to massage your own lips after having them done because it will move the product.

I've had mine done many times. Op, you should go back and complain. How did you find this practitioner?

It also looks like you've got too much in the top lip to me. The bottom lip should always be at least the same as the top lip, if not fuller.

I got them done by a surgeon at the spire hospital. He said to let them settle for 48 hours and that I could gently massage any lumps (but there weren't any). He massaged as he was doing it. There was barely any bruising either.

I hope you are happier with them and hopefully they have settled and look better
