Looking for an on trend stunning evening outfit for under 2k

I work in the fitness and health industry. I have lots of events for the next few weeks and looking for an outfit to make me stand out. Size 6 with great pins and currently really like the Ashish rainbow mini dresses, just a bit concerned that it won't have much longevity. I'm often casual so not the best at styles and trends! Any advice would be good

Your posts on this are quite odd. You have 'lots of events', but you're looking for AN outfit that makes you stand out. Do you have £2k for a different outfit for each of these events? If you are planning to wear the same to all events, surely standing out is the last thing you'll want to do?

Looking good is not about spending lots of money. By the sound of it, you have the frame to look good in most things, so why not concentrate on just finding things you like and looking great in them?

The budget is for one outfit, the events are in different locations and the people that matter will only see me the once. So I could get away with wearing the same.

I've spent weeks on the high street and just haven't found anything that has the something I'm looking for.

I really love the rainbow one holly willoughby wore. I would go for that one!

if you have that kind of money to spend then you should pay for a stylist rather than get free advice here Grin

I wouldn't go rainbow if you are using it for multiple events, yes it's noticeable so people will notice you've worn it again and again, won't there be pics from these events?

What high street shops stock dresses at £2000???? Go to Selfridges, Harvey Nicks or buy a decent magazine for ideas. Self Portrait is a good bet and you’ll save money.

I'd checkout Holly on Insta for some other looks. The mini dress was standout but what she wore to the ITV gala or the Pride of Britain was stunning!

Fitness and health, so the shorter and tighter the better. Instead of buying one showstopper dress for 2k get two or three with some killer acessories. Health and fitness is a niche industry and you will see the same people at each award ceremony - you shouldn’t recycle dresses in that kind of environmentZ

Is it going to be the same people at some of the events?

You’ll need more than one dress

What about a meat dress?

Organic of course.

Buy this, this and this

Get some killer black heels and a fab bag. Vary make up and accessories for each

I always see dresses at this price point in magazines and wonder who actually pays that much for a dress, and how much they must earn? I know celebs get given / lent clothes for free but wondered if any ‘normal’ people buy £2k dresses.

Not a criticism, if you’ve got the cash good for you, enjoy the dress Grin

Sorry I’ve missed the point of this thread, I’m just fascinated

I don't think you need to spend anything like that amount for an amazing dress, although unlike most mnetters I actually like the Ashish ones. If you are looking for a rainbow sequin style I personally think this one by Sara Battaglia is nicer though.

If you're determined to go big on budget, net a porter has some fabulous balmain mini dresses at just under £2k. Herve Leger is also a good bet given they are instantly recognisable so will get you noticed as being in a very expensive frock (if that's what floats your boat).

This Rachel Zoe dress is also fabulous imo and leaves you money to buy shoes and a bag.

Seriously, you are a tall, leggy size 8 and could find nothing that looked amazing on you in any high street shop HmmDid you try Whistles, Karen Millen, Ted Baker, any department store anywhere? Who cares how much it costs as long as it looks fab, go to Harvey Nics, get a personal shopper, if you are in as good shape as you say it will take less than 5 minutes to find a dress

I'm also confused as to why you posted here with your budget Net A Porter would have what you are looking for.

Primark does some very good outfits for a lot less than £2K.

The Cushnie et Ochs one that Olenna linked to is stunning.

You don’t have to spend the full £2k just on the frock, eh? Get some fab shoes too.

How dressy? Are we talking black tie or cocktail dress?

I think you might be better off to look at dress hire options for high end designer dresses. They would be up to the minute, you wouldn't have to worry about longevity and you wouldn't have to wear the same dress each time. You might get more bang for you buck.
