Need an alternative to hot cloth cleansing for night time

I'm not sure there's anything out there that can help, but maybe you ladies know of something....

We recently moved house and the hot water takes 20 minutes or more to come through. I really can't be arsed to go through this in the evenings and it wastes too much water anyway.

I've basically stopped washing my face before bed though 😳

So I need an alternative. I wear make up maybe 50% of the time and my skin is pretty normal with some oily patches. I USED to get horrible spots, until I discovered hot cloth cleansing, which is why I am not sure I am going to find a suitable replacement.

I follow the Caroline Hirons routine loosely after cleansing - Nip and Fab pads and then a serum, or sometimes Alpha H Liquid Gold. I don't usually moisturise as well, as we live in the Middle East and my skin just doesn't need it here. Climate is humid and sweaty.

I really couldn't be bothered! Disclaimer - I am pregnant and utterly spent by evening time. I need something quick and easy or I just won't bother.

Have you tried a micellar water? I've used one when travelling, one step cleansing takes off make up really well. I keep meaning to have another go at one. I usually hot cloth too. Just used a basic one from French pharmacy before, there's lots about now though.

Do it in the morning, as you make your tea put a bit of kettle water on your cloth.

If you live in the Middle East, you are probably/hopefully using a high factor sunscreen each day and you really do need a thorough cleanse to unclog those pores at night. I think you should cleanse as soon as you return home from your day but I also think you know that and are still too tired.
Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Milk, massage in, large damp cotton wool pads to remove. Twice, if you can bear it.

I just use muslin cloth with cold water.. I'd this awful? I agree, cleansing routine once you're home/after eating.

if I'm wearing make up I first use micellar water with cotton pads, wash that off quickly with cold water
then a bit later I massage in a cleansing lotion (for example at the moment I'm using <a class="break-all" href="//www.amazon.co.uk/Weleda-Organic-Soothing-Natural-Cleansing/dp/B003CYUS26/ref=sr_1_2_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1490768789&sr=1-2&keywords=weleda%20cleansing%20lotion&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">this), work it in, and then clean off with a muslin or other cloth with warm water. This however can also be done cold water, I don't see why it has to be warm.

Another vote for micellar water. I just use that then moisturise.

What about taking make up off with micellar water and then washing with Cetaphil to remove rest if the daily grime? I use cool water.

I also do my skin stuff after I've put the kids to bed rather than when I'm off to bed otherwise I'd never do it, I'm terrible when tired!

Thanks folks. To answer the questions, no have never used micellar water - any recommended brands? I do hot cloth cleanse in the mornings as we have hot water then.

I don't wear sunscreen; the sun isn't actually that strong here due to the dust and my vitamin D levels are through the floor. And I hardly go outside anyway due to the heat.

I could just use cold water but it doesn't feel right!

I use Garnier or L'Oreal Micellar water, both good.

Lots of cleansers emulsify fine in cold water. Una Brennan vit c oil does.
Bobbi brown balm cleanser does. There's probs my loads more.
Agree that micellar water is the way to go.
