Zara down coat - navy or black?

I want one of these m.zara.com/uk/en/collection-ss-17/woman/outerwear/long-water-repellent-anorak-c367501p4308096.html

I'm wondering whether to get the black or navy? I've always had black coats but maybe I should get a navy one instead?!

I intend to wear it throughout the winter for everything from commuting to the school run to mooching about the shops or going for a walk with the kids....

What would you buy? Or if you have this coat already, did you go for navy or black and why?!

Oh my goodness, I've been looking for a coat like this for ages and didn't think I'd have much luck as the shops seem to think summer is close 🙄
I've bought a black one, I have a navy one already and sometimes I struggle with it when I have black jeans on so wanted black as it goes with my wardrobe better. Thank you!!!!

I would get the navy, everyone seems to have black coats!

I'd choose navy. It goes with so many colours pinks, reds, even mustard! Black is often quite stark and can kill an outfit with any colour in it. Unless you only really wear black of course!

That is gorgeous! I have a black down coat and a blue unlined parka and a wardrobe of black, navy and grey. Spend my whole time wishing the weather was different so I had the right colour coat for my outfit (don't get out much ...!). V dark navy is the perfect option

Beautiful coat! I prefer black as it goes with more outfits and looks nice with jeans.

Navy. It suits people generally a lot more than black. It also goes with a lot.

I've just ordered the short version of that in the yellow. Really excited for it to arrive. Had a great recommendation on here for it.

How does the sizing come up on it? For a size 10-12 would Medium be ok or should I order a Large?

Does adjustable hood mean removable hood?

I have this!
I love it!

I have the navy, it is a lovely dark navy that looks way more expensive than what it is.
It does not leak feathers but the front zipper is tricky, be very careful not to get it hooked onto lining, grrr.

It is my fave puffer that I have ever owned and i go through a huge meltdown whenever i need a new coat as it has to be sooooo right in so many ways (i don't drive so need it to function as a full weather coat, etc).

I am 5'4 and it is just at knee length. I'd say it is a tad small fit, but looks so slimming with the length and belt tied. The fabric is a lovely texture (not shiny) and the hood is exquisite! It is quite substantial even though you can zip it away neatly. It covers totally in a downpoar and the high neck really keeps you warm to the point you don't really need a scarf even on the coldest days. it hangs very nicely (is a good shape) and does seem to keep you dry.

it is warm, stylish, expensive, but well worth it.
I chose blue as i am very fair blond and the navy flatters me more.

More info: I spent months looking at this before buying it.
I nearly drove myself daft.

When I say it fits a bit small, I dont wear thick jumpers beneath mine so as a uk8 i got the XS (I'm narrow shouldered with Bcup boobs). If i wanted to wear thick woolies i would have bought the S.

It is not a thin coat, even though it is figure flattering. Truly warm and wonderful. I honestly prefer it on me to the daft poses the models use online. It is much, much nicer in real life.

Yay!!! It has arrived!!!
Navy is splendid. It is so dark I will be able to wear it with black clothes / footwear anyway. And it is so warm - ooh I'm so excited to be able to wear it tomorrow.

The hood is not removable but not noticeable. Has an awesome collar which it hides away in.

Fingers crossed it stays cold enough for long enough for me to enjoy wearing it Grin
