Will pay top end of my meagre budget so under £75. Really want them to be flattering but not too tight. Smart AND casual and fling in the machinable. Oh, and if they could turn my flabby 14/16 tummy into something less podgy, so much the better. Thanks you splendid people.

OK- will try to overcome my pathological hatred of shops during the sales and get into one tomorrow 😊. SwedishEdith I am beyond crap at finding these things online so would be more grateful than you can imagine for some specific links........ I am so bad that the ones I find on M&S all attract reviews from 60 year old + shoppers Blush.

Like this but loads more. Look under ankle-length trousers.

Agree re the Gap bi-stretch. They are my work trouser of choice, followed by some M& S (so shoot me) fabulous slim bootcut trousers that are thick and have some hidden tummyholderinner thing going on. (I didn't realise that when I got them, but they are wonderful)

Can I slightly jump on this bandwagon and ask for the same kind of thing but for short people with a big stomach? I have literally no trousers any more and I really miss being able to throw on some jeans. Or some nice black trousers for work. What do short dumpy people wear that looks good?

Vintage do you have a link for your M&S ones? I like M&S but always find crap on there 😁

Following as the m and s ones sound interesting... I need boring and machine washable work trousers too. Such fun...

These trousers are literally everywhere. I defy you NOT to find them. I'm a useless shopper and yet I could go into almost any high street shop right now and buy a pair.

slim bootcut

There you go. I love them. They are really thick fabric.

Me & Em; also lovely but don't want anything too drapey (!) or cuffed. Thanks though.
