Dreaded camel toe

I carry some extra weight around my lower stomach and trousers often give me really bad camel toe. I have found that side zip ones are more flattering but still only have two pairs of trousers that look ok in the crotch area.

The annoying thing is that I have quite good legs that suit skinny trousers, it's just hard to find tops that are long enough to look good, or trousers that don't give me the CT. Does anyone have any tips? Or is there anyone else who has this problem and has fondness some good clothes?

I think if uou are getting this then uour trousers are too tight, if it's a choice between baggy round the legs or tight round the top and subsequent camel toe. Then you need to go for the former. Every time, I'm sorry, but baggy round the legs is by far the lesser of the two evils.

I think specialsubject is alluding to the recent phenomenon of fanjo hair removal. Not sure there's any evidence for this. It may be the fashion for thin, stretchy, high-cut jeans and leggings.

I really don't think not shaving pubes would have any effect on having a camel toe! I'm pregnant and haven't bothered defuzzing and can honestly say for me there really isn't that much hair! I think it's more to do with tight trousers.

I'm not much help on the CT but these side zip skinny trousers from Cos are fab and come in a variety of colours.

I believe there have been some CT addressing underwear companies out there too, will probably be expensive but worth a Google?

I thought camel toe happened because low waisted trousers/jeans were pulled up to high so the seam etc went right into the fanjo crease. Surely higher waisted trousers would fix it as the length from waist to fanjo would be flattering and roomy?

I think Buster is right. The trousers need to be long enough in the body not to pull up into the fanj area. Go for high waisted.

Camel toe happens because trousers are predominantly too small and pulled up too high, simples.

It's sod all to do with your bush. The op needs bigger trousers. She needs to go up a size or two. It's not something uou get in trousers that fit uou correctly.

Simply if the trousers are too tight and pulled up too high the flesh bulges out either side of the seam and is visible to any one who has the misfortune to look at uou.

Sorry op, either bigger trousers or if uou lose the excess weight then it will lessen in the ones you have.

I find that trousers that don't give me that camel toe look are too big in the waist, bum and legs so that's why it's tricky. If it was as easy as going up a size I would have done that. Thanks to everyone who has helped.

Sorry youve had a hard time on here OP. People are assuming that youre a) fat and b) wearing trousers that are too small. Both wrong.

Its your body shape and/or the cut of your trousers most likely.

Can i ask, are you an apple or inverted triangle shape? (so bigger top half and smaller bottom half with a high waist/hips)? if so then you need to find some companies which cut for your body shape. Try Zara, Mango, Wallis. You also need knickers with a deep /long double gusset.

If all else fails, use a pantyliner or you could try smoothgroove

Thank you single. I will try those shops because actually I hardly have anything from them. Great advice. I am a bit fat (16) but I see people my size or much bigger wearing jeans or trousers without the same problem. Thanks again.

Try the £10 SmoothGroove before spending more money on clothes! Good luck with finding anything that fits in Zara, speaking as a size 16 also.

Mango have a larger range called Violetta, available online. I've had some nice jumpers from there, but can't vouch for the trousers.
