Boden Curve and Flare dress

Does anybody have this?

Is it flattering on and could it be dressed up enough for a winter wedding?

I'm still carrying extra post baby pounds and so feel a bit lumpy around the middle. I need a dress for a wedding but don't really feel good in anything I have tried so far. I'd also prefer not to spend a lot of money on a dress that I will wear once.

I would get either the real green or the navy blue.

I bought (twice) and returned twice.

I felt it was too formal for me and it wouldn't get much wear.

The material is quite thick and the skirt is quite full.

I think it would work for a winter wedding with a lovely necklace and possibly a skinny belt . Think about sizing up. I can usually get into an 8 or a 10 in Boden and the 10 was a good, pretty tight fit.

What colour did you try?

I'm glad you say it's formal because I wondered whether it might be too casual in the flesh.

I bought the navy first then the green/ teal. They are nice and the fabric is heavyweight. Zip is exposed I think down back.

If they are in the sale I might buy one but being honest my wardrobe is smart casual even for work and I could see this being worn a couple of times. what put me off too was the short sleeves- fine for a wedding but for me, I'd wear it for dinners etc and would need a cardi under a coat, so then the question of what cardi to buy /wear?

What was the green one like colour wise?
I'd prefer black but maybe not for a wedding and the bridesmaids are in dark blue so the navy may also be out.

To be honest I won't get much wear out of it afterwards either but it looked as though it would stay in fashion for quite a while. I could potentially wear it for a nice dinner out in future.

Everything else I've looked at is a bit too Christmas partyish and I won't ever wear it again.

The green is actually listed as Baltic- unless you mean the one that is navy with green. I loved the colour - it's 'my' shade- a deep bluey teal. More blue than green.

Send for it today while there is 25% off- you can easily return.

Also interested in views on this dress, particularly if it is flattering for those of us still carrying baby weight

It's quite 'hippy' imo. If your waist is small it will disguise your hips as it's very full but if you are very overweight it will make you look like a ship in full sail.

I am short ish and the main reason for the return was I felt the full skirt overwhelmed me a bit. The petite was a good fit but as I said, short sleeves for winter are an issue for me, would have preferred 3/4 length.

A bluey real is my favourite colour too so I've ordered it now.

I'm relatively tall but thicker around the middle since babies and carrying an extra stone so generally bigger all over. My hips are ok but my tummy and fat bum need disguising.

I agree on the sleeves but I'm just happy to have found a dress that actually has sleeves! So many are sleeveless and I don't want to shiver all day.

It will def disguise your bum. I think it suits a tall person better or short person in heels and I don't have any (yet). Except boots.

It showed every lump and bump on me, and the fabric felt really sweaty. I so wanted to love it, and I also planned to wear it to a wedding. The navy and burgundy shades are lovely.

That length will look skimpy on tall people, as it's neither properly short nor definitely knee or lower.

Navy would probably seem too formal in a workplace sort of way.. But teal could be a good choice.

That looks lovely but the arm length would drive me mad!

Well the dress arrived. It's nice but longer in the arms and skirt than the picture I attached suggests. It comes just below my knees and the sleeves to a tad short of mid forearm.

It looks good with heels but I'm now worried that I may be too hot! The material is really thick.

I found it very thick too. Would a petite length fit you?

I'm 5foot 8 so a petite might be too short?

You need to look at the garment measurements. They will be different for different sizes. Petite was just above the knee for me (am 5 3")

Ah ok I will check. I'd need it to be mid thigh to be flattering on me as I have thin thighs but fat knees.
