Hi can anyone recommend a body wash that doesn't dry out skin? Itching like mad!

I'm using Simple for Baby bath wash in the shower. Actually leaves my skin feeling soft. Other than that, l'occitaine milk soap. You may laugh at the price but the big bar lasted over a year and didn't dry my skin out one bit.

Dove is the only one that helps DD and me. DD's consultant recommended it.

Porridge oats inside a bit of tight and used in shower or bath will help itching

Dove has SLS in which is precisely what dries skin.

The Weleda one looks promising.

Handmadenaturals are also good. Paraben and SLS free.

When my skin's dry I use Dr Organic Vitamin E body lotion - it's gentle but it's rich and deeply moisturising.

I also rub almond oil into my skin all over at the end of a shower. Or drop it into the bath.

Another vote for Dove. It's the only thing I've tried that stops me getting flaky patches on my skin.

Just started using Aveeno cream which is great too - not seen the shower and bath oil but thinking I might try that too now...

Dove actually doesn't have sls in it, not one I've got anyway

Dove actually irritates my dry skin.
Aveeno oil wash is lovely and soothing or you can buy a medicated dry skin wash like cetaphil

Seconding Aveeno.

Elave - it's for problem skin and has no nasties in it.

Dermol 500 can be used as a wash also good as a hand wash.
Or dove sensitive spa bar or also recommended for people with dry sensitive skin

Both dd and I have problems with aveeno. Not as "good" as it initially appears.
I find most liquid body washes dry my skin, but dove bar and sanex liquid both are fine.

Sounds like it will be trial and error as I found Dove and Sanex (and Simple) aggravated my eczema and left my skin very dry.
You're looking for something that is soap free - Cetaphil very good but the one I keep returning to is Aveeno.

Forever hand and face wash. I use it as a shower gel and it's lovely.

Aveeno wasn't good for me or my son, it flared his eczema up.

Just seen Aveeno body wash is 1/3 off at Lloyds pharmacy at the mo - must treat myself! Wink

It's strange isn't if? How one thing is good for some and not others.

Aveeno and Avene saved my skin from itchy scratching because of the oats. I even put oats in the bath sometimes if having a flare up. The secret to defeating dry skin is, once you've found something that suits, moisturise 4 times a day with the cream. Keep at it ! Hard as it may be.
Good luck finding a soothing wash. Thanks
